what is the best way to put a film on a site?

If I want to put a 1 hour dv film i have shot on my site, what is the best way and best format to do this for best quality.

Should I split it up?

Splitting it up would be a nice thing to do, often even the broad band users do not want to wait that long on a download. We ussually do split as well as whole version, then in two formats, and two speeds.
