What can u do with an overheating laptop?
Bloody thing keeps dying on me..... It feels pretty hot so I assume it is overheating
With my DT I just took the cover off.... But u cant do that with this thing Any ideas?? |
cook eggs?

look at the bottom there should be a cover to open with a few screws, and there will be a fan there, carefully take the fan out and clean the dirt out of it, they pick up a lot of dust especially if you lay it onthe carpet.

Clean or replace the fan. Or you can use it as paper weight.

But to be honest I sent my laptop back under the warrenty and they replaced the monitor. Maybe they cleaned some stuff........ but it works better now and does'nt over heat....... I still use the chill pad for some reason. I figure heat can damage things so I may as well keep it as cool as possible. I never turn off my computers and they run for months. |
chill pad ---> :thumbsup :thumbsup
|
Take a can of compressed air and hose out all the vents while the machine is running. You will see a massive dust cloud spray out and the computer will be magically fixed.
You owe me. |
yeah chill pad they come with 2 fans to cool it works like a charm :thumbsup

|
Use it for birth control:winkwink:

How are you using the laptop when it is heating up? I ask because some people take them to bed with them and cover up all the vents.
Just don't set it on your lap, though. |
sell it and buy a new 1
|
check out this cooler too...my laptop has a desktop processor so it gets real hot.

i've done several things that have worked.
put some stuff at the 4 corners of the bottom of laptop so its elevated off the desk. buy an laptop fan/stand on ebay, it connects through usb. leave the lid open or at least slightly open, with the screen off. |
