My neighbor's fireworks, my new cam (pic)

Neighbor was shooting off one of those big box "whole show" units and I snagged this from my front yard. Still getting used to working the camera:)

Wow, that one looks amazing....... :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Nice shot...But I've always enjoyed rigging up my own huge firework displays. Just having one big pre-made box seems like it would take the fun out of it.
I mean, where is the chance to lose a finger that way? :winkwink:

Yeah, definitely got to get a tripod. I've also got to get used to the "2 part" shutter click. It throws me off to lose the live view just before taking the picture.

Only the first shot was mine:)

My neighbors go nuts every year for New Years Eve and 4th of July. They shot 2 of the big units and dozens of smaller ones last night.

LOL, that's the way it came out of the cam, full resolution. I'm still learning my way around the thing. If you put your mouse over the first image and drag and drop to the address bar it will take you to the image from your temporary internet files and show it all in one screen, but you don't really see the neat trails that way.:upsidedow

Kodak Easyshare 5mp. It beat out several other contenders because it was small enough to go in a pocket but not too small for my clumsy hands and also takes video up to available memory.

I'm really surprised with the video quality. I didn't get it primarily for video, just wanted that option for occasional family type stuff. It does impressively well in low light. I was apprehensive about the QuickTime video (hate it on the computer) but I've played the camera line out straight to TV and it looked fine, so recording it to tape or disc should work well. Other cameras I was looking at had 30 or 60 second limits on clips and I figured the first time I missed something because of the time limit I would hate the camera:1orglaugh

I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for a decent still/video cam they can shove in their pocket.
