Video Capture and Encoding
What's the easiest way to capture DVD content to my PC and encode it for the web (WMV & REAL)? Any info or direction to resources would be appreciated.
|
pinnacle is one of the easiest programs i've ever used... very simple and gives you alot of tools....
|
Sony Vegas...
...or you can hire us to do it for you... :upsidedow |

but vegas is really fast! and pinnacle i guess will work for beginners//
|
Vegas I find pretty easy but I don't like it anyway. You can also use Ulead Media Studio or even Adobe Premiere. I find those also very easy. Pinnacle Studio is very similar to the 2 that I mentioned
|
Well...maybe "easiest" wasn't the correct term. I really just needed *any* direction. I checked both the Pinnacle and Vegas stuff out...both look pretty awesome
|
vegas encodes and renders better than pinnacle though...
if not easy .. then go with vegas or premier.... i would say go with vegas... better plug ins, nice and clean look, and renders quick :thumbsup |

Sorry...I'm a noob in the video department :( |

DVDxCOPY is a good one :2 cents: :thumbsup |
OK...a little more confused than when I started, but that's OK LOL
So I need a "ripper" program to get the content from my DVD's to my PC then I can do what I wish with it with Vegas, no? |
Am not sure what software we use however I know we have an external silver box (I know very descripitive) that does most of the work. If I remember correctly a software only solution is painfully slow...

what is the latest version of vegas.. i have here vegas video 3..

Last little bit of help regarding the capturing of DVD's to my PC...is this what I need?:
http://www.gigapal.com/ecart/Scripts...?idproduct=371 Thanks for all the input! |
For making WMV's:
1. Get DVD Decrypter. Set it up so that file splitting is at "none" in the IFO options. 2. Put DVD Decrypter into IFO mode. 3. Save the output to the default location. This should create a very large .VOB file. 4. rename the .VOB file to .MPG 5. If converting the DVD to WMV, use Windows Media Encoder. It'll allow you to use the MPG file as a source. |
DVD rip sites = Ghey

Seriously I dunno why so many webmasters fell for the Liscensing of DVD content trick...
It's silly. Its all PPV/VOD'd out done and sold. People that watch them are fans of pornstars nothing more nothing less. Go and try and make a site off DVD rips and see the retention sink harder then a brick in water. |

I have been in this business since 1996 and I have read nay-saying comments like this every month of every year...porn is dead. All it really tells anyone is that you tried - and failed :2 cents: |
There are many ways to do it and the best is do your own research and find what is suitable for you.
