Has any other country ever sent the U.S. relief money after our tragedies?

I'm just curious. I searched Google and a couple other sites to see but my search came up empty. This has nothing to do with all the money the U.S. shells out each year for disaster relief. It's simply a question.

Anyone have any ideas?

dude, we owe the world bank a trillion dollars.

Didn't realize the number was so high. What are we doing; Borrowing money to hand out?

Yeah, China and other asian countries as well as South American countries send us cheap illicit drugs, hookers and pirated products... I love the world!

Rick Latona 12-31-2004 04:11 PM

Yes. We got a great deal of relief after 9/11. Do you remember Rudy Gulliani giving back a check for 10 million dollars to one of the Saudis?

TheMob 12-31-2004 04:12 PM

well, the question is hardly in place anyway.. if something like that were to happen here, we'd have enough money to build it back up. 1000 bucks will build a new house down there.

TheMob 12-31-2004 04:13 PM

besides 90% of the world's richest people live here

This thread almost matches the one that equalled the most dumb thread in GFY. And that read along the lines of:

How many of the people in the disaster area ever contributed to 9/11?

Basically... there is nothing to say. It's too offensive and displays an ignorance which keeps getting thrown in faces and almost always from the US.

No wonder most of the world think there is a problem and there is some despising - it's clear this is fully justified.

Highonacid, youre a good guy but this thread is quite retarded.

kemp 12-31-2004 04:26 PM

DURR - loads of countries are contributing money and troops to help us flatten IRAQ right now. Plus countries all around the globe contributed to the 9-11 relief fund.

To say the world doesn't help the US in relief efforts is completely ignorant.

Someone got to it before I did.

This is from a similiar thread:

Did the thousands upons thousands that are dead contribute to 911? Probably very few if any. Does that make the need any less? Does that make them any less human? Did the people of 911 go without? As far as I know, the surviving families of 911 received a good deal of money and assistance. The U.S. was able to help its own, however, donations did not just come from the U.S. The victims of 911 received donations from all over the world.

This world will never become a better place as long as people in this world think as you do. The old "I won't give you anything unless you give me something first". Or the "What is in it for me". I give to needy children around the world. I do not expect those children to give anything back to me. It is the giving that does me the good and makes me a better person. It teaches me compassion.

Lets hope that one day you are not in need and when you reach out for help everyone around you says "oh, I'm sorry, but did you ever do anything for ME?" Hopefully they will say "How can I help you, tell me what I can do"

It would be obvious to anyone that these people(tsunamai victims) are too poor to even help themselves (let alone help the richest country in the world).

why is it.. you jump in every topic these days spouting off about America or Americans? Did an American run over your mud hut in his SUV?

and BTW why is it you are so proud of where you live that you can't show your location?

Excuse me??? Who is "spouting off" about "America" or "Americans"??

Did I even mention the words "America" or "Americans" in the post??

Get off that perverse defensive bandwagon and into reality. The message related to the idiocy of comments attempting to make comparisons with people who have nada and have a disaster hit killing.. who knows how many, and some asshole whining about them donating to some 9/11 fund.

If you don't consider that sick ... :321GFY

PS... Your message also says much more... you got a hate problem??
