1% chargeback rule. Remember when everybody was CRYING about it?

It's the end of the year. How many of you were able to stay under the 1% chargeback rule? It wasn't so bad like everybody said it was going to be. I was at 0.8% this year and I think a lot of those chargebacks had to do with Pennywize fucking their accounts up. Otherwise I would have been lower.

How about you?

ADL Colin 12-31-2004 08:05 AM

The end of the world never comes.

Ashcroft didn't get us either. Now he's gone too.

Theo 12-31-2004 08:06 AM

If you take care of the customer support and avoid affiliate fraud you dont have to worry about anything.

polish_aristocrat 12-31-2004 08:07 AM

Great thread, but it's New Years Eve, everyone's gonna party today and not discuss business.

bigdog 12-31-2004 08:16 AM

honestly? not big difference. Cross sales, fraud and bad CS are the things you gotta avoid.

but also with deceptive tours, one must get a lot of emails from surfers asking about some content that was on the tour but not in the members area

Varius 12-31-2004 08:42 AM

We averaged 0.52% for the year :thumbsup

DutchTeenCash 12-31-2004 08:46 AM

When i was just a porn surfer that really pissed me off, seeing a really hot chick on the tour and then finding she wasn't in the site. Never charged back, but I bet a lot of people did. And lots of sites still do this, even the big ones.

angelsofporn 12-31-2004 10:32 AM

our rate was .27 for the year

brand0n 12-31-2004 10:34 AM

.9 for the year. got kinda close for a min.

modF 12-31-2004 10:37 AM

I didn't have a chargeback for a little over 3 month, and wouldn't you know it, I logged in today and there was one of those mother fuckers staring me in the face. Yeah, I'm a bit bitter about it. What I love even more is the jackass logged in at least once a day and spent about 20 minutes per day on the site. Arrhh.. I hate surfers some days.

Other than that, my cb rate was low as hell for the year .3%.

BVF 12-31-2004 02:11 PM

My goal is to be at at least .5 this coming year. I think I can do it if I step it up on my customer service. I'm VERY excited about the coming year.

Screaming 12-31-2004 02:15 PM

everything horrible when it first happens and then the shock wears off and back to the as close to normal as life can be

beemk 12-31-2004 02:31 PM

my chargeback rate for ccbill sites i promote was at about 0.1% or 0.2%

Alex 12-31-2004 02:33 PM

The sites with deceptive tours usually get a lot of joins. And its okay if one or two out of tens of thousand chargeback and so the rate is still less that 1%

newbreed 12-31-2004 02:44 PM

We had 4 chargebacks for the year with Arika's site. Both claimed fradulent transactions, yet they spoke to Arika through e-mail and on Yahoo Chat.

It was actually only 2 people, but one charged back THREE times.

Fucking lying bastards.

MikeSmoke 12-31-2004 03:40 PM

0.05%....and every one of them still pisses me off... ;-/

Tuga 12-31-2004 03:43 PM

I remember when they closed my Verotel account because one guy charged back. 17 times.

Bansheelinks 12-31-2004 03:49 PM

I hate when ppl. do that..........grrrrrrrrrrrrr

pornguy 12-31-2004 03:50 PM

we are under 0.5%, I guess it is kickass.
Never been over the 1%, even with about 40 signups in a day (our highest a couple of months ago).

FTVGirls 12-31-2004 04:03 PM

fluctuates between 0.24 to 0.26% for FTV....

but my concern is, that maybe they will bring the CB ratio cap down to 0.5, 0.25, in the next few years -- who knows?

collegeboyslive 12-31-2004 04:20 PM

humm i wonder how the ibill fuckups of 2004 has affected my chargebacks?

Nysus 12-31-2004 04:22 PM

It was the end of the world for companies who based their business model by abusing surfers by having extremely high pre-checked cross-sales of $100+

Matt

james_clickmemedia 12-31-2004 04:59 PM

The rule only applies to Visa chargebacks plus it goes into effect if you get more than 100 cb's in a month.. So many smaller paysites are not effected.
If I am incorrect please advise.

andrej_NDC 12-31-2004 06:20 PM

0.075%, but I started only in september :)

Rictor 12-31-2004 06:28 PM

0.5% on the dot.

This is true to officially be in the monitoring porogram. However, the bank can still tell your processor to turn you off if you are consistently above 1%.

Maybe first quarter 05 for at least one region will drop.

Drake 12-31-2004 07:13 PM

It only affected companies that had over 100 cb's in a month, so it only tended to affect large programs, not the small or medium ones.

The crying might have stopped but that's because programs/sites made the necessary changes to keep them out of cb troubles. What did we see in the past year? Programs lowering payouts, previous giants like Freenetpass virtually fall off the map, fewer PPS programs launching, and a general improvement in the quality of members areas (more content, more quality too) which is a trend that appears to be continuing. So while it might not seem like anything changed, a whole lot actually did.
