The US is sending Jeb Bush to inspect tsunami disaster

This administration has got to be the biggest damn joke in US history, if not the world. Using 120,000 deaths for political gain, fucking disgraceful.

Did you expect anything less from them?

Ironhorse 12-30-2004 08:52 PM

It's probably more to show the world that they are taking the crisis seriously by sending one of the princes..

cspdinc 12-30-2004 08:52 PM

jeb bush for president, let the reign of terror continue

crockett 12-30-2004 08:53 PM

Well I think Jeb is a pretty poor pick.. regardless it's normal for politicians to go to disaster areas to be seen and act like they are there to help, by picking up a stick or two for the cams.

The US and many other countries are giving millions upon millions in disaster relief. You don't think these govts will send anyone there to check it out? Again Jeb is a piss poor pick, but reguarless I'm sure he's only the first of many to come.

Yeah, Carter would have been a good choice, although Jeb is not going alone, he is one of the several member of the US delegation.
By the way, there will be countless foreign delegations visiting very shortly.

UniversalPass Pete 12-30-2004 09:03 PM

Looks like they have plans to keep a bush in the white house! in the next election?? Possible? :2 cents:

Homey?? How old are you?

Webby 12-30-2004 09:31 PM

Loads of pure vitriolic love and compassion around...

Nice to see all is normal.

Greg Jacobson 12-30-2004 09:32 PM

Jeb Bush has a passport? I doubt he has ever even been outside the borders of the USA.

Now that is the most intelligent remark of the evening, do you mind if I use your quote in my sig?

NaughtyAlysha 12-30-2004 09:46 PM

We went through them as well. Also, I do think that 117,000 deaths and climbing is just a wee bit different from what we had here in Florida. I must agree with the aforementioned post of a political gain.

The US press conference today held a shocker for me. The guy (sorry, forget who it was) said that they had decided to pull the money out of the "Reconstruct Iraq Fund" to put towards the Tsunami disaster. This doesn't really sound like a good long term plan, if you ask me. Of course the "Subdue the Iraqi Insurgents Fund" is safe, natch.

And I thought they were sending Colin Powell as their ambassador to the disaster relief?

Screaming 12-30-2004 10:03 PM

i would think there will be many countries sending out people

Rebecca Love 12-30-2004 11:19 PM

???????

Hmmmmmm Maybe he sent Jeb to look for oil. :eek7

KRL 12-31-2004 01:11 AM

Jeb is actually well liked down here. Between the two I think Jeb is way sharper.

Hinc 12-31-2004 03:00 AM

Hmmm.

I didnt imagine learning how to rig an election would be first priority for tsunami victims, but hell -if thats what they want, jeb is prolly perfect...maybe that ohio electionmachine dude should accompany him...

xclusive 12-31-2004 03:48 AM

Of course it's political but i'm hoping that something constructive somes out of this and we can save a few lives...

No shit? FL didn't have 117k deaths? My bad.

The point is we are sending a delegation and you might as well include someone that has dealt with water related disasters, so he qualifies.

No matter who went it could be said they are going for political reasons. No shit. They kiss babies for the same thing. No one is going there because they "want to."
