Blessing from Grandpa

Recorded this on Thanksgiving and re-watched it today. I thought people here might enjoy the musings of a groovy 92 year old man.

Thanks, man.
I went by his place last night to help him with computer stuff. He met me at the door in a bathrobe and holding the bag attached to his catheter. With zero shame or bitterness, he explained the ailments he is battling as his physical shell falls apart. He is an inspiration.

jigg 12-30-2004 08:04 PM

wow he's one lively dude for 92. 92? he looks 70s - awesome dude. hope grampa has many more years to go

xNetworx 12-30-2004 08:05 PM

He sounds really good for 92! My grandpa is 86 and in pretty bad shape. Hopefully he will get better with his surgery on Valentine's Day.

Great Thanksgiving message. Thank you, Grandpa Caleb. Definitely a lot to absorb and incorporate in one's daily life. Thanks for a great link, Hal. I needed to hear that message as the New Year beckons. Here's to greater blessings and greater compassion and productive creativitiy in a New Year!

sickkittens 12-30-2004 09:01 PM

Bummer. Wish I had my sound working. He looks good for 92 BTW.

Pornwolf 12-30-2004 09:43 PM

GrandPa Caleb Rocks!

Old people are so wise. It's a shame so many young people don't sit down with them and just listen and learn. I guess it's human nature to think you know everything about everything when you're 20 years old.

brand0n 12-30-2004 11:14 PM

92.. can you think of all the shit that man has seen

respect.

BigWebRev 12-30-2004 11:16 PM

you are blessed Hal :thumbsup

baddog 12-30-2004 11:22 PM

man I hate QT almost as much as RealPlayer.

First part sounded good, then it stopped. The only video I saw was what looked to be the top of his head. Weird.

Blech. Sorry. I'm trying to *force* myself to learn how to use my mac. Things like that seems to pop up more than I like.

cherrylula 12-30-2004 11:44 PM

How fortunate you are to have had such an influence as him in your life. His light shines and it's apparent that his soul knows something about unconditional love. Truley a rarity in this life. With so many out there who are quick to judge, quick to point the finger at, quick to lift themselves up while trampling over others, he is a living example of Hope. Thanks for showing him to the world. Granda Caleb gets it. Just one thing, does he realize what a voice he is becoming to the porn industry? LOL
Talk about unconventional and uncondtional..gotta love it. Bright Blessings to him and all his kind.

Your Gpa is VERY sharp and well-spoken Hal.

tASSy 12-31-2004 03:22 PM

I love Grandpa Caleb! It's not hard to see where your zest for living came from, Halcyon. Caleb inspires me to be a more compassionate person, you inspire me to be. It's obvious this pink apple didn't fall far from the tree.

I have always respected the respect you have had for gramps.

I don't know you personally but, I like your values.

pornguy 12-31-2004 03:45 PM

Thanks, Marty.
When I was very young, I saw a picture of my grandpa with MLK Jr. It always reminded me that the heroes and world-changers are not superhuman...they are peers.

If you see the pink haired guy in Vegas, would you tap me? I'd love to meet you.
