r3ap3r 12-30-2004 10:58 AM

Gremlins. Those MOFO's are scary.

Damian_Maxcash 12-30-2004 11:02 AM

I cant remember what it was called.... It was a British film about a group of teens

They do a Weja Board and then get picked off 1 by 1

Had my finger on the remote for most of it....lol

SykkBoy 12-30-2004 11:03 AM

tough call between Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original version), Ringu, Suspriria and The Exorcist

I remember having nightmares for days after watching Gremlins when it first came out...

lesbodojo 12-30-2004 12:07 PM

Italian Horror Films are the BEST

I can't help it...I'm a huge fan of Dario Argento. If you haven't seen Suspiria, I highly suggest it. I'm also keen on Lucio Fulci.

Scott McD 12-30-2004 12:09 PM

The only movie which actually gave me a few frights in the last few years is The Ring.

I want to see The Grudge though, see if thats as good...

Screaming 12-30-2004 12:12 PM

none dont watch them and the ones i consider horror would make you guys laugh

Holly 12-30-2004 12:13 PM

Jeepers Creepers, Parts One AND Two!!

whooooooo......spooooooooky

xxxdesign-net 12-30-2004 12:15 PM

exorcist 3
Amytiville 2

psili 12-30-2004 12:15 PM

Not necessarily scary, but the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead left me awake all night because I couldn't get those damn zombie images out of my head. Every time I closed my eyes I'd see zombie.

For a fav flick, I'd have to go classic and say "The Shinning".

Don't bother. The Grudge fucking sucks.

You can't get any better than Texas Chainsaw Massacre IMO.

*instant friends* which is your favorite Italian horror flick?

Paco, of Large Cash. 12-30-2004 12:39 PM

I love horror movies which is why I am so disappointed in the schlock that has been released over the last 5-10 years ? mostly stolen ideas from Japan:
- Exorcist - "your mother sucks cocks in hell!"
- The Evil Dead (the first, not the spoofs) "they're going to get you" ... a girl being raped by a tree can be somewhat disturbing.

Oh yah ... Baise Moi ... OUCH!

Furious_Female 12-30-2004 12:41 PM

The Ring - Even though it kept me awake for 3 weeks afterwards, it was still a hella cool movie.

warlock5 12-30-2004 12:43 PM

Not a big fan of horror movies. I liked Se7en and Silence of the Lambs. I guess you could consider them horror movies.

DaddysGirl 12-30-2004 12:47 PM

I really liked The Grudge, The Ring wasnt scary to me except for like 2 parts and they have a sequel coming out too, so hopefully it will be better!

The Exorsist I still havent been able to watch from begining to end...

Saw was great too, but thats more of a psychological thriller.. :2 cents:

Top Jimmy 12-30-2004 12:48 PM

Evil Dead 1 for scares, Evil Dead 2 for laughs

Yentl

Vitasoy 12-30-2004 12:48 PM

bufferover 12-30-2004 01:00 PM

Jamdin 12-30-2004 01:05 PM

I thought the Ring was more perveted than horror but anyway...

My favorite horror movies include:

The Exorcist
House of Dark Shadows
Night of Dark Shadows
Race With The Devil
Rosemary's Baby
Salem's Lot (the original)

Nope, you did not miss much, nor was it or the original scary, at all.

Strife 12-30-2004 01:24 PM

The Ring is more of a psychological horror (terror) movie...it's not an "in your face" blood and guts horror movie. Some people just respond more to visuals. People that don't get the psychological terror part of the movie won't find it scary.

Suspiria
but I also loved Bay of Blood, Gates Of Hell, Zombie, Terror At the Opera, Tenebrae, Phenomena (known as Creepers in the states)

almost anything by Argento, Fulci and Lenzi

some people can get involved with characters and some can't....
I think this is what makes something scary for someone...being able to identify with the character...

mookienow 12-30-2004 02:20 PM

Dead Alive

justfreemovies 12-30-2004 02:25 PM

romero's dead films any of them
night of the living dead
the first one had the best ending though, not the remake in 1990's

Definitely topping the list of movies that are great because they're soooo bad.

Anyways, I like the early movies from the Halloween and Friday the 13th series.

I also remember a movie called Sleepaway Camp 2 that I liked when I was young...mostly because it was one of the first times I saw tits :1orglaugh

Cassie 12-30-2004 02:36 PM

Finally, a little recognition! I was starting to think nobody was gonna bite. I posted that 3 hours ago. Normally there'd be 10 replies, somebody calling me a stupid bitch, and a spin-off thread by now.

Day shift are a much different crowd than night shift. :Graucho

Elli 12-30-2004 03:20 PM

House of 1000 Corpses
The Prophecy series
People Under the Stairs (touching yet freaky)
The Serpent and the Rainbow
Near Dark (very stylish, gotta love the actors)

I only saw Ringu and Ju-On, not the english versions (the Ring, the Grudge). Both were very creepy, but didn't make it into my faves.
