Shit, I think I fucked up my eyes!! I am seeing little organisms. Help
Ok, lately I have been working really hard on the computer, putting in 10 hour days for like 10 straight days. Today I woke up, and my eyes were kind of feeling heavy, so I go outside for 3 inutes and stare at the sky to take my attention away from the computer, than I come back and get on the computer for a couple of minutes and then I go and lie on the bed.
Then I stare at the ceiling, and all of a sudden I notice a bunch of what seems like to be little organisms (kind of like when you look at a microscope) on the ceiling, and I realise that what I am seeing is on my cornea! So now when I am looking at anything with a white background, it becomes noticable, everywhere I look I can see this things...and if I am near alot of light, it becomes more noticable. What is going on?? Does anyone know what this could be? Did I damage my eyes?? It's kind of scaring me a bit. |
umm get on the phone with the eye doc and ask, i have never heard of that

No, you're totally fine. |
it will go away, i see that shit too cuzz i wear contacts and never take them out
think about it like when you stare at a light long enough, you will have a red spot in your vision for a bit |
you should take a break from staring at the computer for 10 hours straight.

You're 100% fine, that happens often. Don't worry.

I used to see that shit a lot outside when I was a kid, it used to freak me out. |
|
best see a doc or an optometrist
if you're talking about 'black spots' that you see - I've had it and I spoke to an optometrist, she sad that those are tiny blood vessels that ........... (can't remember what she said lol) but there's nothing to warry about |
A friend of mine calls them chasers. Its totally normal, I notice that shit when I was a kid.

the more you think about it, the more you will notice it.. take your mind off it and you will totally forget about it then stare at a wall, and you'll notice its still there.. its very easy to ignore |

and they look like little black dots, some of them do, and some of them look like little organisms. |
If it's what i get, It's a type of migraine. I see little "swirly" kinda patterns. They're tiny, but noticeable in my vision. I get 'em now and then for maybe a half hour to an hour at a time. Some people get this kinda shit instead of the painful headaches. When you compare it to what some of the other poor bastards go through, it's not so bad! But go see a doctor just to be sure.
|
If they are little black things like smal strings floating across your vision they are called floaters.
My mother and I have them and there is nothing that can be done about them. They do not bother me, i got used to seeing them. |

i see them too. I can only assume they are normal
|
I am just glad to know now that I am not the only one who saw those... I always wondered about them but never did anything about it since I did not want a doc to tell me he would need to do surgery or something crazy like that.

I have been rubbing my eyes alot lately because of the extra work. I hope that didnt cause it |
You've got teh eye cancer.
Happy New Year. |
I see floaters a lot as well. Very noticable lately since the snow hit here. When I spend a lot of time outside with the snow glare etc. I see them for weeks at a time.
You are fine. Never hurts to have your eyes checked if its been a while anyway. Good for peace of mind and to be sure there are no problems (other then floaters). |

No. A long time ago I got sucker punched in the eye and my retina was torn. I have a permanent blind spot in my right eye due to it. A small one, but I can notice it if I close my left eye. I have "floaters" in my field of vision on a pure white background. My eyesight is still great. Mind you, I have "extreme far sighted vision" which makes my eyes act like a telescope. I can see very far distances and still see very good up close, although when I get older I will require glasses. Oh well, My eyes work great now and I never get eye strain. Apparently my eyes are incredibly odd as they haven't shown any strain yet for my extremely odd shaped eyes. |

When I get that I need to goto the Hospital. In 30 minutes I begin to hallucinate and become disoriented. I would probably attack someone who exposed me to any light. Light in any room when I have a migraine can cause me to become very violent. :( Migraines for me are pure hell on earth. |
They're definitely floaters, I used to work in an Optometrist's office. You need to have your eyes checked, but they're nothing to worry about.
The distance at which people set their computer monitors on their desks is a very awkward distance for eyes to focus. It's not far away and it's not close up like a book. Prolonged concentration at that mid-range distance can be hard on your eyes and a lot of people need to use a slight Rx lens to help deal with the strain. |
floaters huh? thats what are called?
always saw that shit when i would squint my eyes tight at bright light... i thought i was superman or some shit cuz i could see micro-organisms. oh well. my x-ray vision is still the bomb yo |
Check out your blood presure, that could be the reason. Get well soon! :)
