bought from a guy called Manuel directly from his truck on the parking lot of Walmarts? :laughing-

j/k - sounds like a kick-ass machine - just a bit worried about that Media Center Windows - that machine will be too noisy to have it in the living room for that purpose, i guess

This one is going in my office to do alot of video editing.....that's about 3 miles from the living room.

And what do you mean by noisy?

i always thought that media center editions are something to have in you living room for your music collection, video recording etc., not actually to work with. and you don't want to have a computer in your living room with that specs cause the fans and harddisk of your new computer will not be that silent I guess. but as you don't bought it for that for video editing that machine will be great. i'm jealous now.

Do people who buy computers with the best stuff really need it?

Well I've got 2 80GB hard drives on my current machine and they're 90% full....video projects take up major space...so the 400GB is necessary.

I've got 1GB of RAM but with 2GB the videos will encode faster allowing me to do more in less time.

I didn't "NEED" a 19inch monitor....but I have one on the present machine and didn't want a smaller one....it would be weird.

I'm definitely going to put it to use and its a write off.

:2 cents:

It's not too bad of a deal (you weren't "ripped off"). I could (as well as anyone here) could have built it for 200 bucks less. Although, considering the prices of store bought computers - you payed less than what you would have at Dell.

You got a good deal. It isn't the best deal, but it's good.

You might be able to get a dual Mag G5 for that price on Ebay. A G5 plus Cleaner XL is a helluva combination.

TheFrog 12-29-2004 03:21 AM
