do you think it is secure to save your money in a paypal account? is it as secure as a bank?

Yep, I use PayPal for lots of things. Once you get a debit card from them, it rules! Someone pays you and you can blow all the money they sent you in minutes! I personally love paypal. They are just starting to do subscription services with password management just like iBill. Check this out

Petty cash? Sure.

significant money you actually need? FUCK NO. They will probably be out of business soon if they don't get more financing (read their fucking SEC or whatever filings.. burning through like 20mil a quarter or something insane), or a real bank buys them out.

I've personally had a few problems with them, but nothing really major. But using them as a normal bank is asinine IMO.

i dont think they will go out of business, but i was just curious if there is any fraud going on with them.
they are just handy and dont charge you %15 on CC payments. thats a nice advantage about their online payment system i think.

I've used paypal a couple of times to make payments and such, I think its a good service and they have been around for quit some time.

They are fast and reliable,and good for small transactions, but I wouldn't leave any large sums of money sitting in a paypal account - you just never know!

Hell I don't even keep my money in banks!
Hollow bed posts are about the safest options I've come up with yet.

Once upon a time money was actully worth something, like gold a silver coins... when it's cash - it's not worth the paper it's written on and now we have moved into an age when all our 'money' is simply figures on a screen floating around in imaginary 'space'.

Personally I don't like this idea very much, perhaps i will become like Indians and just wear my wealth on my body - I have already started with gold peircings...
could get a bit wieghty though.

they are going public, or already have,
not that this makes a diff,
they have lots of ebay business and I would trust them, I have used them for a few transactions so far and it has been painless
