Any Webmasters want to run your own high traffic site?
Hey Ya'll,
I started a site called freehun.com, which has grown to about 1,000hits/day and is making a bit of money, but I need an experienced webmaster to help, that's why I started this thread. I'm just wondering if there is any webmasters out there that know allot about adult site design and want to become partners in designing a high traffic TGP site. I would supply domain names, and an unlimited bandwidth host, plus content and traffic. I just don't have time to run the whole site, plus I lack experience in site design. That's why I need a web designer as a partner. So leave me a message if your interested or have any questions. PS. The partnership well work like this...I well supply domain names, I well supply my unlimited bandwidth host and I well supply all content and the site I have already designed...I just need a partner who is good at web design to use my resources and build a nice looking TGP or any other type of money making adult site you had in mind. I would also help in any other way I could.

Panama man... I believe that thehun has a trademark on his domain name and he is legally bound to enforce his trademark, which means that any variations of 'hun' he can legally stop you from using. It's like if you registered and used freemcdonalds.com I dont think McDonalds would be very happy.
Anyway... that is what I think is going on! In regards to you changing the domain name at the end of the month. Why on earth dont you change it RIGHT NOW? I mean, if you have traffic coming to your site now and they like it, then they will bookmark it and come back again and again. But the longer you wait to change the domain, the worse off you will do in terms of bookmarks, search engine listings, link trades etc... It will take much longer to move the traffic over. |
I wont be out right changing the domain, I well be linking www.freehun.com to my new domain. That way all my traffic gets directed to the new domain.

I can see you needing a partner, being that you dont have the time to run the site. If sombody could create a high traffic site...why would they want a partner? A high traffic site will pay for it own bandwidth...and domain names really dont mean much when it comes to freesites. When you say you can supply traffic...how much traffic are you talking about? And where is it coming from? As of now...it looks like 30% of your traffic comes from this board! A suggestion seems in order here for anyone not grasping trademark or copyright laws, either US or International, would be to go to your favorite search engine and search out the answers to all the things you don't understand.
Most countries tend to follow the ignorance is no excuse thing. And amazingly enough, the laws are very similar in these areas at least in bottom line meaning. If you still don't understand, hire an attorney to ask. Or it could result in "if you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you". Your tittering and elbow poking over things like this are all hilarious... until some newbie reads it and takes you as knowledgeable. (Or you convince yourself you know better.) Then goes out and reg's one that will put his butt in a sling. All in a days laugh tho eh? Sitting in other threads denouncing someone swiping a layout, and in another discussing ways to get free albums and yet another trying to grasp trademarks. Hmmm what is wrong with this picture? A few more dollars in legal advice instead of the local nude bar might save you some serious problems down the road. I can ONLY imagine if someone took off on one your sites names or URLs. You'd be screaming for their heads. |

The reason freehun is so bad is cuz you first came here and said you had the huns blessing with the domain which is nonsense. You also try and act like you have all these connections and hook ups, which is also nonsense. If you had any clue about traffic you would have some... and if you had any clue about bandwidth you would know you are in fantasy land when you hear the word unlimited... and if you had any clue about being an adult webmaster you would have never brought all this nonsense on to this board. With all that said, I am done with this guy. I just had to get it out before I punched my monitor. |
Panama maybe the best lesson to be learned here is that you need to realize that in this biz it's all about numbers.
$3/day, divided up into some sort of a partnership isn't going to excite many high-profile webmasters which is what you're looking for. Actually, you have done something to him and everyone else that runs a legitimate porn business.
1) You stole the hun's name to make your own version of it. I don't care what people on here think. There is tons of case law on this. Their OPINIONS mean jack shit. It is clearly in violation of the trademark statutes. Look up the case law. The examples given don't mean crap - this is settled case law. No one can own the right to the word sex when it comes to sex and if someone had a non sexual site about The Huns - it would be allowed. This is different and clearly against trademark laws. Go to findlaw.com and look it up if you think differently. This means the hun has to take time out from his day to deal with crap like this. Which he seems to be having to do on a more frequent level. Less time for him to review galleries. As someone else mentioned HE IS REQUIRED to do this to keep the rights to his name. 2) 1,000 hits a day - Please tell us how you got all those bookmarkers in that period of time. I also note that your top two named url refferers are this board - and a redirect from freeservers. Does freeservers suddenly allow porn links?? 3) "I came in here saying that me and thehun has an arrangment, and the arrangment is that I offered to change my domain at the end of the month." That is not what you said - you repeatedly left out the second half of the sentence. 4) I didn't see it, but according to a RESPECTED poster on the other thread you were using stolen content. This is a piece of free advice, so you can take it for the value of it.
You are new, and you could be spotted as new by accomplishing two things. 1. You infringed upon the trademark (read trademark) of what is probably the #1 TGP on most days as far as traffic concerned. 2. You pissed off a great number of people on what is probably the #1 read webmaster board in the industry, namely the GFY. Caution might dictate that you would listen and learn for a bit before you find yourself with no resources to turn to. The adult webmaster community is an incredibly tight group, and one that will bend over backwards to help you become sucessful. I cannot tell you the number of times people here stopped their own important projects to take time to help my organization when we were new. Perhaps you should consider taking a quieter approach, find yourself someone who is experienced who is willing to take you under their wing and show you the ropes. Saying you had an agreement with The Hun, and saying that you would be changing your domain name are not really the same thing. By stating that you had an agreement with the hun you inferred that the hun was ok with what you were doing with his trademark. While the adult webmaster community is a group that would help each other readily, they also have a long memory and cannot deal with dishonesty. I wish you great success in your journey as an adult webmaster. As for getting upset with you, I don't really have an opinion one way or the other. Either you will embrace the community and learn, or you will obviate yourself from the business and you will no longer be able to be here to post and learn because you will be out finding another way to support yourself. I need to stop reading these boards as the legal and logical ignorance by some makes me want to..... I know it shouldn't matter, but I just can't help myself. What you posted is of course 100% correct. It will also be 100% ignored by everyone who either thinks The Hun is a dick (how that is relevant I don't know) or uses their opinions as to what is legal or not. I do not know why I keep coming back here. There is some useful information sometimes, and there are some on here that are helpful and have helped me. All too often people are allowed to get away with blatent accusations, beliefs, and bullshit that they pull out of their ass and state as fact - and it makes others that don't know any better think it might be true. These people should be slammed immediately. It doesn't matter how new someone is - it is basic common sense. I have no problems with new people - I am new in the adult business. I have no problems with people that want to know which sponsors convert the best and how to make money with TGPs. Four months ago I didn't even know what a TGP was. I really don't even have a problem with REALLY supid questions - as long as the person is nice when asking. I guess it is just a pet peeve, but people who come on here with their stolen content, legal disclaimers about public domain content, and not being able to enter their site if you are a law enforcement officer - just really irk me. In fact, if someone uses stolen content and says - you know what - I can't afford it, and I don't think I will get caught, so I am using it - for some reason that wouldn't really bother me. Of course you never hear this. It is the public domain content stuff that irks me. I have done nothing wrong here, yet people keep talking out of their asses without getting all the facts.....you people are interrogating me like I'm a freaking criminal. Before I get flamed some more, lemme clear a few things up!
1) For the people flaming me about my domain name, it was an hanest mistake, I didn't even know about thehun when I registered my domain. Also I was not trying to cash in on his traffic because a user cannot miss-spell thehun so much that they get directed to my site...not possible. Then I get flamed by people saying that I act like I know everything, just because I didn't post the arrangement between me and thehun. The reason I didn't wanna post the arrangement is because it was personal between me and thehun. Do you nosy people really wanna know the arrangement? The arrangement is that thehun is going to give me the money to register a new domain, so I can redirect freehun.com to the new domain and can carry on with my business. There are you people happy with knowing the whole thing? Geez. 2) Some of you have implied that I am trying to get a webmaster to design my site so I can "cash in" on the profits....this is NOT the case. I wanted a webmaster to work with me because web design is not my strongest point. I also wanted a partner to come up with ideas for the site...ect....there is a saying "two minds are better than one"....my partner would get most of the money, I just wanted enough to pay for the hosting and other costs. 3) My traffic, some of you some of you have insulted me for only having 1000 hits a day. Yet you don't seem to take into consideration that my site is only a month old. Plus the galleries on my site are getting around 150hits/day...that's not bad for FREE traffic. Also some of you question where my traffic comes from, well a few weeks ago my site was a top list, which exchanged traffic with other adult sites, this got my site known....and now traffic is mainly coming from re-visits and word of mouth. Some of you also question my Freeservers redirection, well that used to be the portal for my high traffic mp3 site. After about a year, the RIAA shut down the site, and I just redirected traffic from the portal to freehun. I hope this clears up some questions and concerns. I'm sure there are allot of nice people on this board, and I want to get to know you better, this post is just directed towards the people that felt the need to interrogate me. The next remark you made was about your site and it's 1k traffic in a month not being that bad. Well, I'm here to tell you that it is horrible, and so is your site. There is no word of mouth about it. I guarantee there is not one soul in this world (beside yourself) that has ever said to his buddy "hey I found a cool new porn site called freehun.com" Just please admit your mistakes and all will be forgiven. 1) Stop lying
2) Take down freehun.com and net 3) Stop your illegal redirection from freeservers. 4) In the future follow the law, use common sense, and READ AND FOLLOW THE TERMS OF SERVICE FOR ANY COMPANY YOU DEAL WITH. I doubt you'll do it, but that is what someone who was SORRY would do. I know you will "lose money" although I doubt you are making any now off that site. That is not the point. If you want to show people you are sorry - that is what you will do. You cannot claim to be both sorry - and continue to do stuff that potentially profits you. I know you will claim, but "the hun and I have an agreement that...". I don't care. Anything he agreed to, if he did, was in the spirit of resolving stuff peacefully. He compromised. Try doing something like that with Paramount or Dr. Suess and you wouldn't be so lucky. There is no compromising when it comes to integrity. |
First of all, my redirection from freeservers isn't illegal, it just breaches the freeservers terms of agreement, and it is their choice on what they want to do. I don't understand why you care about something as stupid as this.
As for taking my freehun domain down, that is also not your right to judge. This is entirely between me and thehun, and we have resolved a way where both of us wont lose anything.
