It's only because STDs are interpreted by some people to be a *punishment* for sex that you're lamenting them this way. Wear a fucking condom, and screw anybody you like whenever you like. Makes me wonder what would happen if we all stopped wearing condoms all of a sudden Now, before you go pegging me a selfish "guy" who's only interested in his own pleasure, that's not the consequence I'm curious about. I mean, would the human species die? Of course not. There would be adaptation and the gradual development of resistance, until equilibrium were re-drawn in a new place. I'm not advocating that anyone forego their condoms. I just want to say that condoms are only holding back evolution by preventing the natural dissemination of pathogens throughout the population and therefore denying us evolution's response to those (epidemic) events. I suppose the same could be said for all sorts of "medicine" and prophylactic efforts.
