Depends what you are into.
If you like goth/punk/industrial check out Fous Funes Electronique(something like that) on St. Catherines. I loved that place. |
Well it really depends on you where to visit. But all I can say is that it's getting quite cold over here...
|
well i am coming from MN so cold is no big deal. I heard news year can be off the hook so looking froward to that. Just getting out of here for several days with a friend. So bar hpooing and site seeing it is. I have never been there.

A couple of "must see" links.

I'm heading up there also this Thursday!
We ar staying @ La Apartman, the reason we chose this hotel is cuz there is no security bugging you and everyone is really freinldy there. + ITs so fucking cheap i could affort to rent it every day for a month no problem! We havent' decided where we going for NYE but i'm sure itll be a blast like the last couple of years! |
ok hotel with the pool on the roof- hotel de la montagne.
weather- wont be so bad for new years eve, its supposed to be 4 degrees celsius. much better than the -46 we saw last week. As for where to party, the city is insane on new years eve. Tell me a bit more about what you like and i can help you out. are you looking for R&B/hip hop? a chic supperclub? rock n roll? |
here is an NYE party we might hit up:
Sander Kleinenberg, DJ Dan, Max Graham @ Bell Center, Montreal, 31 December |

awesoem thanks. Isn't there like a street that is hopping on new years? googling hotels as we speak.
|
Yeah, downtown Montreal is cool. I've stayed at the Delta Hotel each time I've been there and it was fine. You might also want to check out / stay at the casino.

W hotel is hot, but it isn't right where the action is. It is central to many things, but you do have to go a bit. It is about 2 blocks further east than the hotel for the Cybernetexpos in the past.
Montreal for new years is cool, plenty of good parties and such. Pick your poison, I am sure you can find it - anything from quiet evening, strip clubs, to raves and more. Old Montreal is a bit quiet this time of year, but the clubs on Cresent, St Catherine, and such will all be hopping. Plus there are a number of special raves and dance parties all over town. Alex |

I'd recommend either the W Hotel or Hotel Godin. Both are brand new and really beautiful.
As for parties, you can come to my place ;) Sixxxthsense, good luck getting passes for any of the big NYE parties, especially Celebration at the Bell Centre. If any are still available, you'll be paying like $70 a person. |
Awww sheeit dude, Montreal is awesome for new years. It's fucking cold as hell but what a great fucking time it is!
You will have a blast! Stay down by Crescent Street and you can't go wrong! DH |

The W is on St-Antoine and McGill in Old Montreal. Ste-Catherine is a 10 min walk uphill. If you're planning on partying in the Crescent/Ste-Catherine area, the closest hotels are: Marriott Chateau Champlain (4 stars) - about 3 blocks from Crescent/Ste-C Le Centre Sheraton Hotel (4 stars) - 2 blocks from Crescent/Ste-C Novotel (3 stars) - 2/3 blocks from Crescent/Ste-C Fairmont Queen Elizabeth (4 stars) - about 5-6 blocks from Crescent/Ste-C Quality Inn (2 stars) - on Crescent, one block below Ste-C Chateau Royal (2.5 stars) - on the corner of Crescent/Ste-C Just so you know, Ste-Catherine St is comparable to Queen St. It's mostly a shopping street. Crescent St between Ste-Catherine and Sherbrooke as well as St-Laurent/Sherbrooke up to St-Laurent/Rachel are comparable to the club district around Richmond/Peter in downtown Toronto. |

Dude i owe you. Thanks a ton. |

And yeah, the Saint James is awesome, but it's far from the area he wants to party at. It's 2 blocks farther than the W. It's also about a million dollars a night... hehe... when the Rolling Stones were in town, they rented out the whole place! |
