YUCK.COM --domain name on eBay
YUCK.COM..
..a fantastic internet domain name!! YUCK.COM is a terrific/ short/ one word/ prononceable/ dotcom domain name which is now for sale. YUCK.COM would be great for any website that needs to be memorable and hard hitting. This prime domain name would be terrific for: an entertainment website, blog, satire, humor, horror, adult, news, community, new product or service, new company, or just about any branded solution. The memorability and short length make it very compatible with all media presentations. This rare domain may be the investment of a lifetime. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW |
Is Yuck.com yours ? Nice easy to remember domain... does it get traffic ?
|
Thanks.
As I recall, it gets about a hundred uniques a day, but there is absolutely no warranty or guarantee of traffic. It is being sold "as is." |
that is a great domain to have, could be many things
|
Nice Domain. Good luck on the sale.
|
Yes it is. It is a six figure domain, easily.
But, the reserve is alot lower than that. So, place your bids! |

Six figures for 100 uniques a day (or less) . . . were you a "crack baby"??? |
Quote:
definately sounds like it... Its a 4 figure domain, maybe 5 if you get lucky |
I wouldn't pay six figures for the domain personally...but maybe someone will. I doubt it though
|
hundreads ? yeah right ... lol
|
Will you ship it to europe? :D
|
More like 5figs to the right person and 4 to the wrong one.
It's brandable, but you're an idiot if you think you can grab that price at its current status. You'd be better off building it up to something(mainstream) first. |

I wholeheartedly, entirely, completely, enthusiastically agree that 4 figures would be great for this name! I do hope you can find someone to pay you 4 figures. Remember . . . think about who visits "yuck.com" and what are they looking for? What can you sell them? This traffic isn't worth much (if anything). |
You can brand that site arround something ... definitly ... but more mainstream I guess ... horror movies or crap
|
100 uniques a day? Thats barely any.

thats why I said 5 if your lucky |

you're right, the traffic the site gets is worthless. you're a fucking idiot though if you think its only worth the traffic. it is a short domain name and very easy to remember. you're paying for the domains branding ability. |
Correct. The existing traffic isn't worth much.
The fact that it is a short brandable name is fairly valueable. |
It is very gratifying to see that there have been 10 bids, but all these bidders want to steal it.
I didn't build a 13,000+ domain portfolio by giving stuff away. There is still 6 days to go, we'll see what happens. |

Im sure it will get up to about $5k whats your reserve ? |
That would be a pretty neat one to own..

Not bad at all, i think he can pull of a 5 fig for it. :banana
|
21 bids now.
Still way too low though. |
This name would be a natural for Consumption Junction..
|
What ya got?

I remember bone.com went for $5k on eBay way back. |
I am not sure what bone.com has to do with this, but YUCK.COM is obviously much better for a humor site. That may be the highest and best use, a humor site, perhaps humor with a gross slant.
Twisted news stories, or something like ConsumptionJunction might do very well. Surely a CJ type site could justify a six figure value. Nevertheless, the reserve is set at FAR LESS than six figures. I want to emphasize that. However, I'm not going to give the domain away. I don't need the money. Worst case scenario: I will hang on to the name for a few years and actually GET six figures. |
Yeah, sounds like a good domain for humour - guess it depends how much "humour" people are willing to bid, but sooner or later itīll give a good price.
Btw I was out domainshopping and found these, also very nice i think - adult6.net, slutsx.com, picpal.net, assx.net imissu.net and xxlgym.com, but i think iīll try and do something with them (at least that was the intention for buying). But anyway, good luck on the selling. |
Personally, I think ConsumptionJunction should buy YUCK.COM, and do a major re-branding, something akin to what MiningCo did.
Years ago, MiningCo did a major re-branding, changed their name to ABOUT.COM, and emerged as a real winner. They zoomed up from something like the #80 most visited website --to #8. For starters, they could ditch a 19 letter domain name --for a 4 letter name. It would also make a great excuse for a worldwide press release. If ConsumptionJunction played their cards right, as I am sure they would do, I bet they could get enough free worldwide publicity on the first day of a re-branding announcement to justify this domain purchase. What do you guys think? |
i think that rick dont miss much and if by now he wanted to talk to you about developing that domain he would have.
|
5k sound about right
|
Only a few hours left!
There are 25 bids, and the high bidder right now is Mr800king (AKA: webfather) at $5100, but the reserve has not been met. At these prices, nobody's even close to owning it. People, this is a six figure value domain! In the mid five figures, it is still a good deal. |

6 figures, wouldnt go that high.
|
Take the $5k and run
|
10k tops

It's a nice name, but to get six-figures you'd need to hit an end-user home run. ++++++++++++++ Agreed. Right now, you don't need to spend six figures to own it. But, I won't sell it now for less than mid fives. I'll leave a little money on the table, but I ain't gonna give it away. |

We are all aware of this domain name and the sale on ebay. I don't think there is any interest there. We have a very well known brand. Changing our domain name and brand at this point doesn't sound like a good idea. Our 19 letter domain name doesn't seem to have slowed us down a bit. Once you've been to our site you never forget the name. Besides your asking price is way too high. From reading this thread it sounds like I'm not the only one that thinks this. |
it's a good high 4 fig domain.
|
I didn't think this thread is still alive.

MiningCo did well with its original name. But read about their re-branding as ABOUT.COM, it's an interesting case of how they became phenomenally GREAT. AHundredMonkeys and Master-McNeil and Lexicon will charge you $70,000-100,000+ for a new brand WITHOUT a domain name included --unless the name is unregistered, of course. One of my ventures is NamingSystems and we advise companies about these issues. |
Approx. 1 hour left in the auction.

One obvious drawback to your "NamingSystem" . . . no type-ins and nobody wants to be known as ?yuck.? Yuck Nasty Gross Disgusting Unpleasant Sickening Coarse Foul Vulgar Nasty Crass |
Bidding has ended for this item.
