I recognized a few places from those pics. That place a has grown a lot since I was there last - sometime in 1988..

wow i havent seen any really and that is horrible, what a clean up and what devestation, poor poor people, i hope they recover as quickly as possible and RIP to those killed

Yea, Phuket is all grown up now. I first went in 96 and did not go back again until 2003... wow. I would of loved to seen it in 88. Have any pics from back then?

so much destruction and so many lives lost, very sad. Hope no one had any family caught up in the devastation, and if they did I hope they are ok. I got a few mates heading to phuket next week... i guess lucky for them they werent there earlier.

I was in Krabi (Ao Nang Beach) on this day 3 years ago. They say that place got wiped out (it's near Phuket).

anyone who been there recognizes these places and knows that there are tons of those streets near the beach in Patong Beach ( Phuket ). Sad to see this, very sad.

Hey, so was I. I was rock climbing there right after Christmas and then went to Phuket for New Years. Ao Nang is beautiful.
