How do you feel about stereotypes?

How do you feel about stereotypes? Do you think they are wrong? Are they true? Do you ever use them? Do you think about them?

aceman 12-26-2004 12:34 PM

i dont care about stereotypes, but i do love it when fags like you pretend to own a ferrari and then get called out hardcore on a message board.

Pornwolf 12-26-2004 12:34 PM

Stereotypes tend to be very stereotypical.

Some are funny - south park does a great job with them

Za Ha 12-26-2004 12:43 PM

Tehy are a good thing cause you get a feel for the person right away, and if they are not like the stereotype, you will find that out quickly after talking to them for a bit.

Rhino22 12-26-2004 12:46 PM

Aceman, you are an idiot. I mean it.

Screaming 12-26-2004 10:24 PM

well i think that there is truth to most of them but yet to group people fairly they would have to be exactly the same to me so it doesnt work :2 cents:

Very true, however when they are taken lightly and based upon opinions, not science, they become a detrimental to society.

It's good that you know what to expect because I sure don't. It depends on the day and how I'm feeling I guess.

escorpio 12-26-2004 11:06 PM

I hate the way all Americans stereotype others. But what do you expect from a country where everyone carries a gun and loves George Bush?

I feel the majority of the time they are true.

I Like Chocolate 12-26-2004 11:36 PM

I agree, the majority of them are true. It's hard not to stereotype people. We do it instinctively.

if stereotypes were an innacurate means of judging people... they would not exist.

So you think stereotypes have truth to them? I would disagree with that notion.

TheMob 12-28-2004 01:57 PM

i don't care much about stereotypes.

AsylumN 12-28-2004 03:44 PM

Stereotypes are made out of falacies. Steretypes are made out of ignorance, nothing more. When was the last time a stereotyop did anything positive for anyone?

reynold 12-29-2004 03:54 AM

some are interesting, others are quite odd.
