So what does the US plan with Iraq anyway?

More than 1000 soldiers have already died there.
The iraqis don't want the US there so insurgency doesn't seem will ever stop.
US wasted over 400 billion dollars if not more and didn't find any weapons of mass distruction nor evidence of Hussein planning to distroy the US (lol).

So, how will the USA recover from their debt? Drill the oil out of iraq and sell it to the world? I vaguely remember that Iraq has like 3 or 30 trillion dollars in oil.

One aspect that I find amusing is that long before the war, Gen. Shinseki (who was generally not very popular because he opposed various projects, including ones that related to the Bradley and M1A2 Main Battle Tank) was asked what he would do in an invasion of Iraq. He responded that he wouldn't go in with any less than 200,000 troops, and 250,000 would be more appropriate.

He was shunned and removed from a position of decision-making authority.

Since the invasion, the numbers of troops in Iraq has done nothing but go up, from the 100,000 range, to the 150,000 range, now it is up around 180,000 and I was reading that they are recalling another 30,000 Reserves and Inactive Duty Reserves.

This is what happens when politicians, not Generals, run military operations. It's pretty sickening to see our young men and women used as political and economic pawns, put in harm's way without the equipment or training they need to accomplish their goals.
