a lot of dvd players play mpg's. I have been useing a "mintek" for 3 years and the shit still plays mpg's. No divx, just mpg.( any mpeg can be turned into a vcd/svcd so it really dosent matter if it plays mpg or not. if it plays vcd then chances are your OK)

hmm yeah, i got a toshiba yesterday and it says its also a vcd player but whenever i put in cds with mpgs on them it tells me 'error:check disc'. in the manual it tells me how to play mp3s/wmv/jpeg files but nothing more. who the hell uses wmv?

i was talking to my cousin today and he said that i need the mpg files on a dvd-r for it to play in my dvd player. i didn't think this was true but figured someone on here might know better. it says on the box VCD but when i put the cd into the player it just says error:check disc.

I have the Phillips that was posted earlier.

GO to Walmart they have them for 50-60$

you can burn MPEG's, AVI's, DivX, etc... to a CD-R or CD-RW and it will read them.

buddyjuf 12-25-2004 06:48 PM

I just bought one from NEUNEO, it really works kickass, and much better than my old LiteOn LVD-2001...

check it out :)

That's because you have to burn the mpgs a certain way, and have them formatted to vcd or svcd standards. You can get lots of help at vcdhelp.com

Or just use nero, it's pretty standard. Drag and drop to your desired mpg format and burn :food-smil
