When did women start shaving?
At what point in history did women begin shaving things like armpits, legs, etc.? Is this relatively new or has it been this way for centuries?
Shaved pubes seems to have become standard only as recently as the late 80's and 90's. It looks more natural to me now. Do older guys prefer non-shaved being that's what they would have grown up with seeing? |
I started the trend in 1976 got tired of the hairballs...

I think women started shaving legs, etc at the turn of the century or maybe a bit later. Before that they never wore skirts, etc. As soon as women started showing a little skin, I beleive it became customary to shave.
As for porn, yeah, it was when Peter North & crew came through. Mid eighties. |
WHy question a good thing?

The greeks and egyptians were into the whole hairless thing. It was part of the bathing ritual to pluck out all your body hair, for men and women. Back in the early Ren, women shaved their foreheads up to the crown, since it was seen as beautiful to show more skin there. (check out the woman in Cyrano deBergerac).
And that's your trivia for the day :) |
