Subscribed threads do you have to post to save?

There used to be a link that you could use, now it looks like you have to post in a thread to keep it. I like to save some threads to learn and have nothing to offer on the topic, so with this version I will have to post something worthless to keep a thread?

yup in the top yellow banner just hit thread tools and teh bottom option is what you want...
