what would ge a good age for kids to start drumming?
I'm thinking of getting my son into drumming when he gets older but don't know at what age he could actualy grasp it and understand it.
|
get a pair of drum sticks and let him bang on pots and pans! or just get him one of those small kiddie drum sets now, even if he cant grasp the idea he'll bang on em and thats a start.
piano would be better - studies have shown that once a kid plays piano he has the ability to pick up other intruments easier. plus he'll do better in school. play a lot of different music around the house too. |
I started when i was 11...worked out good

Age is relotive. What some kids can do at 4 others can not do until 7 and wise versa.
I would suggest that you work on instilling the principals of phoenetics, beat, rythme and ryme first. Beat and rythom comes before drumming.... Perhaps before all that you should work on your kids spelling...I know my prents didn't... |
The kid does have a heart beat right?
Done! 3-4 months old should be plenty.... easy enuff to start when their in the womb. Main thing as they get older and more into it tho..... Music is a language... u need to be communicating with others to learn quickly. As with all language the brain is specially prepared for learning it up to around 3-5, after that it's not alway so easy to learn a new language. -Ben |
