What setting to use in IE to avoid getting some spyware and crap like that

I use FF as my default browser but I'm afraid that someone takes my computer when I'm away and start surfing websites that will infecte my machine with spyware, what are the best settings to use with IE?

Thanks

Delete IE. Simple.

I recommend you use the FIREFOX feature - the best browser, and next comes Nutscraper 7. IE sucks pooooooo!

If you updated your IE6 the default configuration is quite paranoid enough - if anything I recommend you enter the SECURITY section of the options and set all ACTIVE X to PROMPT.

although I would just go with Firefox, only thing I can think of to let you use Explorer with as much safety as possible is a good firewall, such as Zonealarm.
it will let you set permissions about what programs are allowed to do what. that should give you some control.

you should probably just start using firefox

Doesn't Maxthon (based on IE) remove most of the IE security quirks?

If so, you should check into it. www.maxthon.com

Btw, 8000 bitches!

I DO use FireFox as my default browser, what I'm trying to avoid is someone using IE in my PC while I'm away. Thanks for the help guys.

just turn off active X , Java, and set controls on high in the zone setting.
or get a better spy catcher like spysweeper and don't worry about it.
BTW firefuck has problems also.
