Need advice: which digital camera to buy?

I wanna buy a simple, small digital camera to carry around with me everywhere. Any advice?

(I already have big, high quality cameras, portability is key here)

The casio exilim looks pretty cool and supposedly takes decent pics. Check out ZDNet thay have tons of reviews of compact and ultra compact cameras.

I do NOT recommend the Sony Cybershot at all. The delay from the time you push the button to when the actual picture is taken is quite nerve racking.

I think I'm gonna go with the Canon IXUS 500 (i.e. Powershot S500). That one is looking pretty good.

and they only take memorysticks which is kinda a disadvantage since compactflash is much cheaper...

Canon hasn't let me down yet so far with the digital slrs, so I probably owe it to them to give them a chance with an ultracompact :glugglug

To compliment Crutchfield, Phil Askey does some excellent reviews at www.dpreview.com , but you won't find a review of every model on the market. The ones he does review are typically top of the line for professionals, top of the line for semi-pros, and a mix for people who like to take pictures. Very detailed and comparable reviews, however.
