webgurl 12-22-2004 09:50 PM

i had to UNinstall it because it screwed with some of my features on my sony notebook like it disabled my volume my camera , and magnifying glasses :costumed-

azguy 12-22-2004 09:51 PM

SP2 is installed. It actually feels much more secure. I also had it for a month before installing.

MrIzzz 12-22-2004 09:53 PM

hmmmmm i am still going to wait a little longer to decide. i will go with the public opinion on this

r3ap3r 12-22-2004 09:55 PM

I installed it on my laptop. No problems here. :glugglug

CrazyLunatic 12-22-2004 10:03 PM

I haven't noticed any problems with sp2 like I did with sp1. Backup all your files before you try it though. If you don't have sp1 or sp2 installed use this safe utility to plug a serious security vulnerablility in Windows XP

DEFINATLY backup first !!

I installed it and lost all USERS on the PC including admin. So there was no way to log in, all the info was there I ended up pulling the HD and putting it in another machine and installing XP pro fresh with Sp2 and it works like a charm now.:2 cents:

You'll be fine. A few minor things to get used to but overall it's a good thing... as Windows goes.

Abyss_Vee 12-23-2004 12:23 AM

i havnt had any problems

Jinx 12-23-2004 12:26 AM

Haven't installed it and I don't plan on it anytime soon.

bdld 12-23-2004 12:53 AM

its safe, ive installed it on several computers and haven't run into any problems. highly recommended.

Persius 12-23-2004 12:53 AM

Mefo 12-23-2004 01:05 AM

BlackCrayon 12-23-2004 01:16 AM

i don't like all the negative shit i've heard about xp. im getting a new computer before the new year but think i might stick with 2000, its been pretty good to me.

PersianKitty 12-23-2004 01:17 AM

Installed it on my laptop in late August.. installed all the updates since. No problems.

DrewG 12-23-2004 01:28 AM

yo that shit fucked up my laptop. worked fine before, now it intermittently crashes. Also fucks with lesser programs that aren't in line with SP2 dogma (winamp, trillian, skype, alexa toolbar)

BIGTYMER 12-23-2004 01:44 AM

SP2 is working just fine.

adamneve 12-23-2004 01:53 AM

after installing i had to format c :321GFY

eMonk 12-23-2004 01:58 AM

do NOT install it if you have a amd 64 bit processor! you will NOT beable to load windows ever again. you will also get no error messages or anything. it will reboot once see you the windows background.

I didn't install SP2, cuz I had heard many people saying they had problems with running some apps after they'd installed SP2 :Hollering

Unless you have old no longer supported apps most vendors have updated their software for XP. You can run the XP compatability test at PC Pitstop to see if you have anything on your system not XP compatable.

By avoiding SP2 you are also avoiding patches for Windows vunerabilities that have been fixed.

xclusive 12-23-2004 08:42 AM

It completely hosed my system but from what i've seen it's a comon thing with sony systems...
