Absolutely! I'm glad I have my degrees and I even worked in the corporate world for a long time - putting my hard earned education to good use. However, even though I'm not even close to working in my field anymore I'm glad I have my education.

Wiggles 12-21-2004 09:44 PM

I have one semester left until I have 2 Honours Bachelor of Arts degrees, may do my Masters next year.

sean416 12-21-2004 09:46 PM

I got one year of university in Business Admin, realized I had another 3 years a head of me and dropped out, went to college... seemed like high school all over again. dropped out...

I incorporated my company and I pan on just going back in 10 yrs or so to get my masters with work experience rather then with a first degree. seems much smarter seeing how I can earn more during that time, rather then going to school and just slacking off.

Attending school doesn't necessarily make you smart. Knowledge is something you acquire, intelligence is something you are born with.

Its right that school doesnt necessarily make you smart, but it sure makes you smarter if you finish it.
And its true that knowledge is something you acquire, often in a higher level of education.

But I cant agree that intelligence is something you are born with. Of course some people are born with great advantages, but most people can learn anything they would like. You have to work your brain every day to become smarter. Challenge it. Twist it.

The definition of beeing smart is wide.

BA College of Social Sciences Concentration Legal Studies. Took my LSAT's scored in the high 160's, but I don't plan on going to law school. So basically I wasted 4 years of my life.

I'm thinking about wasting another 2 and try to get my MBA.

I disagree entirely. Working your brain daily can help to keep your intelligence and even increase it just a little. However, as you say people can 'learn' anything. This makes them educated and not intelligent. There's an awful lot of very well eucated dumb people in the world. Most intelligent people are born that way or at least develop it during childhood. Education != Intelligence.

OG LennyT 12-22-2004 05:14 AM

Theres also a thing known as 'emotional intelligence' :winkwink:
