interesting predicaments we get ourselves into
 

So you start doing some work for people.. all of these people are doing some never done before so they make you sign an NDA and never tell anyone what it is... so you slave away, and put the finished product behind a passworded area for them to use and no one else can access.

Word spreads quickly that you work well and people hire you... so you get more projects of the same nature.

Then the time comes that you want to look to a different industry... say... from porn to mainstream... so you are stuck at square one and need to send out your resume, however....

all of your work is behind a passworded area and you're not legally allowed to talk about it.

Can you guess what the resume ends up looking like?

Well even if that wasn't the case, how many mainstream companies are hiring people with portfolios stacked with porn projects?

That's why I always have a few mainstream projects running at all times...

been there - done that - and like you, we have no idea what the answer is :(

Actually, that's not nearly the hurdle I thought it would be... they don't care. Mainstream companies are professional enough to look passed formalities and focus on your actual talents.

The problem of course is just having something to show them.

I've done a lot of mainstream sites but that was back in 1999, so then they ask "what have you been doing since?"
