The break down is not so good. lots of people have 1 and I doubt many people have over 10.

more than 100 less than 200 :)

2 - and for what do you need more than 10 servers, if you're not a hosting company?

You can make more than $10k monthly and be on virtual.

I have one dedicated and one virtual I use the virtual one to test out all my shit but I plan on getting 2 more boxes in Febuary...

1 virtual - my original account which I only use for one site now but can't be bothered to move
1 semi-dedicated with ISPRIME - couple of sites and galleries on that one.
1 dedicated - which host everything else.

I should really put everything on the dedicated and save myself a couple of hundred bucks a month

When you are serving tons of content to 1000's of members then you need way more than 10. Plus you need a mirror in case something happens. (redundancy)

i dont have many active porn sites, but for my mainstream ventures i currently have 12 servers. I keep 2 servers for my porn stuff.

14 servers here, load balancing and clustering needs equiptment, and if you need to serve up alot of content to alot of people in a timely fashion you need to have equiptment to handle it. Also redundancy costs alot of $$$$,we need to have dual DB's, Redundant DNS's, Multiple front end servers and redundant content servering machines. Have to make sure our members can jerk off without waiting, Happy members are recurring members.

12 couple afiliate/db/landing servers 4 mail servers and some other boxes doing other things :)
