Why a Q and not an F?
A lot of Arab words use a Q without a U and are pronounced like a K (Iraq, al Qaeda)? Since these words had to be translated from another alphabet into English, why do we spell them with a Q and not a K? Is there some subtle difference in pronunciation? If there isn't, let's start using the K (Irak, al Kaeda)!

ok, then let's use fan instead of fun, hat instead of hot and son instead of sun, they all sound the same in spanish http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/biggrin.gif

The reason they have to use q's instead of k's is because in their haste to bomb everything in sight, they accidently bombed the letter k. Hence, q has become the k substitute in the Middle East.

Because when they came up with the name, Irak just didn't look good on paper http://bbs.gofuckyourself.net/board/wink.gif
