One of my friends keyed her ex boyfriend/baby's daddy truck in a drunken rage
 

pretty badly . now she is charged with a felony for malicious michief. this girl has never done anything in her life besides this, not even a speeding ticket. she just found out on Friday that there were charges. She is surrendering today for booking and can pay her bond and then leave.

She wants to get a lawyer, but I have advised her to plea it down to a misdemeanor and take her punishment. Don't fuck around with a felony. If she goes in there lying and trying to say she didn't do it and they see through it, it's over for her. She doesn't want to listen to reason.

Also, i keep telling her to not talk to the cops when she surrenders. She won't listen to that either. She thinks since he has hit her in the past and wont pay child support that they will take mercy on her because he is a piece of shit. I keep telling her that's not the way it works. This is about HER.

i dont think there are fingerprints. just 3 eye witness accounts. duh. but she says NO ONE absolutely NO ONE could have possibly saw her. she wont listen to reason. she's gonna end up with a felony on her record

If she is charged with a felony and makes bond, alot of times the payment of the bond will prevent her from getting a Public Defender as she will be considered solvent.

Ugh... she shouldn't say anything without an attorney. Hopefully she will get one and get the charges reduced. A felony is no laughing matter.
