Yes actually there is a little cafe in Colonial Williamsburg right beside the college of william and mary that has the best espresso I have found on the east coast but it's an hour drive. I can't make that trip every morning but would if I could.

Community and Charlie's are chains. Community is a big southern chain. Competes directly with Starbucks.

Right on. I will check that out this coming summer when we visit the gulf coast. We are going to vacation down your way this coming year with the wifes uncle and aunt. I am looking forward to it.

I just can't drink it. I have no idea how people can just drink it like water.

Furious_Male 12-20-2004 08:30 AM

No.. I prefer plain black columbian coffee. No need to hit Starbucks for that.

I love the mocha (regular chocolate) and the caramel thing :)

In Edmonton we have our own local bean roaster, Java-Jive (JJ), who does a fabulous job - the beans are ALWAYS fresh (they roast small vats of green beans the previous night for the next morning's retail shipment, and hourly for personal/consumers) and never bitter.

You can walk-in for a tour of the place, which is stunning to see. The hardest decision is which roast to pick.

They are so much cheaper, fresher and better tasting than SBux.

If I am in a town with out a JJ, I ensure I go to TH before SB.

i haven't been there in forever!
tony and i used to go all the time.
my favorite drink there during this time of year is either a peppermint mocha or a peppermint hot chocolate.
