Are you supposed to give a tip to your garbage men and your mailman?

I never have but I wonder if youre supposed to.

And how would you give it to the garbage men when you never see them?
at least with the mailman you can leave it in the mailbox and they'll see it.

Spunky 12-20-2004 07:29 AM

Screw that...they are getting paid very well for what they do

richard 12-20-2004 07:36 AM

I learnt my lesson the hard way.

You don't wanna piss off either of these people :1orglaugh

Juicy D. Links 12-20-2004 07:38 AM

Yes ,

Trust me , when you tip em , it helps alot ie: your porno mags dont "dissapear" . the garbage guy is gentler with your cans and such.

Jer 12-20-2004 07:40 AM

Yes, and I would tip them if lived in a house instead of in an apartment

clickhappy 12-20-2004 07:43 AM

I have 2 garbagemen... I gave them $50 each last year. That's a job I definitely wouldn't want to do and glad some people do it.

No fricken way ... and there are many reasons why:

My parents for many years fed (vino and alimento) the garbage persons, as well the mail person.

One would think that would get you a little extra service, but NOoooo ... instead, the garbage persons took advantage and the mail person still delivered physical spam.

My local garbage person throws out a box of clothes (Clearly marked "FREE CLOTHES - DO NOT THROW OUT") every time I put it out - it is away from where I store the trash. In addition, I can never get them to pick up this box of crap (nothing hazardous) that I am trying to get rid of.

Fuck the lazy unionised bastards ... simply more MF with their hands out palms up as apposed to down.

wes 12-20-2004 08:15 AM

nope

fusionx 12-20-2004 09:51 AM

I threw garbage for several years as a kid, between 15 and 18 or so.. in Iowa, running behind a truck for hours on ice covered streets .. what fun!

Anyway, the people that tipped us at Christmas always got much better service. We never destroyed cans and such anyway, but tippers and nice people in general would get their cans carried back up to the house, etc.

We'd even notice if they forgot to put the cans out and would carry them down from the side of the house.

But, only tip at Christmas or other appropriate holidays.

So let me get this straight, you only do your job properly when tipped?

Do you frequent any place daily? Like StarBucks ... do you tip them?

How about the grocery store?

No, not cheap, I merely believe in equality.

In the US, postal workers are not allowed to accept cash and cannot accept non cash gifts over $20. I give my cookies. :)

And I'm my own garbage man :thumbsup

ronaldo 12-20-2004 10:19 AM

I'd post my opinion, but I'll hold back out of fear of pissing off Shemp again :winkwink:

MandyBlake 12-20-2004 10:19 AM

Tipping is nice. We found we get much better service from people (maintenance men, people like that) that way.
We haven't been here for very long yet though, so next year we'll start.
