I bought a new copy of Windows XP a few weeks ago and installed it. The next day I had a total computer meltdown. I just rebuilt the computer today and installed Windows again but when I tried to activate it online I got some bullshit message about how my copy of windows has exceeded the allowed number of installs.

Well, fuck you, asshole. I'm not buying a new copy of Windows every time I have a hardware failure. Someone point me to a crack for this activation bullshit, please.

try astalavista.com or the M$ customer service. if the software does not like you to reinstall over other day... well then I suggest you get a version off the usenet that doesn't require an activation at all.

That suck bit just call M$ they will take care of you they are not evil in any way when it comes to sorting out problems like this...

Call microsoft and tell them you had to reinstall the windows and they will give you a manual key to enter into it to activate windows.
