target=_blank not working in ie.

has anyone noticed this on your ie browser? I think MS got overzealous and they are even blocking user initiated new page. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Had not noticed that. What IE are you running?

it may be an occasional occurance, but certainly not a perm bug.

This is a fucking mystery. Now its working. But when it prevents a new window from opening, a message apprears at the top of the browser saying that "pop-up has been disabled." What the hell!!!!

I noticed that too..damn pain in the ass. you can disable it for that site, but not every surfer can figure that out. i think i'm going to link to firefox on my front page for my surfers, lol.

I like the option

It's annoying, but with most popup browsers, you can just hold down the "Control" key to allow the new page to open. You can possibly try using a Javascript code to pop open the new page. Might leave a damper on things if people can't see the new page.....
