Eat 3000 calories less than your requirements = lose 1 pound of bodyweight.

so if you eat 15,000 calories less than your requirements, you'll lose 5 pounds

Here you go: stop alcohol and soft drinks or switch to diet. Grill up pounds and pounds of chicken at the beginning of the week and eat that and green veggies for lunch and dinner. Eat plain oatmeal with splenda instead of sugar for breakfast. Exercise some. Preferably ride a bike for 30 minutes or jog several times a week and you will lose more than 5 pounds. I promise.

When you do cardio make sure you var the intensity. Go hard for 1 minute, then average for 2 minutes. Repeat the cycle. If you can do that for 15 minutes, plus a 3 minute warmp up and cool down, and you do it every day, it might work.

Only drink water!

Hey You . . . I Know You! 12-19-2004 03:03 PM

Assuming you are fairly young (under 30):

If you are a big, sloppy fat cheeseburger eating couch potato, then losing 5 is a snap.

If you already have pretty close to your "normal" body makeup (weight & percentage of body fat), then losing 5 is much more difficult.

Some people can loose 5 pounds of water weight in one day, but you would never notice because they are so large. Remember that muscle is more dense than fat so it weighs more. This means if you add muscle then you might not loose ?weight.?
Body weight means nothing without % of body fat.

For example:

The average NFL running back at this year's (2004) combine had: Height: 5-11 Weight: 220

The average fan watching from his couch who had: Height: 5-11 Weight: 220 was a big, fat, sloppy man who couldn?t walk up the stairs without having to catch his breath.

So, weight (by itself) really doesn?t mean anything.

Your ability to lose 5 pounds depends on height, weight, age, % body fat, body type, etc.

Fundamental rule: consume less & exercise more
