I'm pretty much FUCKED! I lost my wallet.

I had my wallet in my jacket and went to the sports bar to watch the football game. I took off my jacket and put it onto the back of the chair. When I went to leave, I took my jacket and folded it over my arm to say my goodbyes. I remember having it because I paid my tab and was on my way.

I got home and I can't find my wallet! I searched my cars, I seached my clothes, I've searched ANYWHERE it could possibly be! No luck. I even called the sports bar to see if they found it. Nada.

I only had about $300 cash in it but here's the part where I'm fucked. I haven't done ANY of my Christmas shopping yet! I called the credit card company and they said that they would "RUSH" one to me and I'd have it no later than Friday. :(

I had to cancel all my cards and I'm out $300 cash. The earliest I'm going to be able to do any Christmas shopping this year is on Friday...Chrismas EVE! Man, I'm so fucked right now it's pitiful! :(

bringer 12-18-2004 05:01 PM

go back to the bar and frisk everyone

ry0t 12-18-2004 05:01 PM

That'll teach you to remember where you put things so people dont FUCK YOU up. :( Sorry man.

nosey 12-18-2004 05:01 PM

sucks man, sorry to hear that gl :(

Vitasoy 12-18-2004 05:03 PM

Damn that's gotta hurt :(

What about going to the bank to grab some cash?

xclusive 12-18-2004 05:04 PM

Sorry to hear it man bad stuff always happens to good people...

evildick 12-18-2004 05:04 PM

Nothing worse than losing your wallet. Happened to me once and it took me months to get all my ID and stuff back. Credit cards, bank cards, hunting licenses, birth certificate, driver's license, health card, Air Miles card, etc., etc.

It's a fucking nightmare.

Harmon 12-18-2004 05:08 PM

Go back and check the parking lot :2 cents:

iwantchixx 12-18-2004 05:11 PM

oh man THAT is my biggest fear. If I lost my wallet I would fucking shit myself. all my ID, medicare, SSN everything. I even keep recips for important stuff in it so i nevre lose them.

BRISK 12-18-2004 05:12 PM

Go to bank + withdraw cash

Twe Russ 12-18-2004 05:12 PM

Happened to me last year, it sucked balls. Getting new Credit Cards is easy
Drivers license takes time, Gym membership takes time, and so does
Social Security.

Sosa 12-18-2004 05:20 PM

wallet in your coat pocket? wtf. I always keep mine in my pants pocket.

ironlung 12-18-2004 05:21 PM

that sucks man

maybe the sports bar yoinked your wallet

chase 12-18-2004 05:45 PM

Man, I feel for you.
The first time I went anywhere after my last baby was born, I was taking her to an appointment-she was 8 days old, I think. I had just gotten a card with $50 in it to go spend on her. We stopped at my office to show off the baby, and I ALMOST grabbed the diaper bag, but I figured, I'll have my hands full and I never locked my car in the lot and never had a problem. I was in the office maybe ten minutes, got back in the car and my diaper bag was gone. Had my wallet in it, the card with the money, my housekeys, diapers and clothes she hadn't even worn yet, the charger for a borrowed camcorder, and, this is almost the worst, her crib card from the hospital, and the total worst, a disposable camera full of pictures from when she was born. (I had c-sections, so no graphic ones, lol.)
I can replace my license, and all that stuff, but those pictures I would give my right arm to get back.
Luckily we have an alarm for the house, because I was really freaked out about someone (who is obviously a fucking asshole to steal from a newborn) having both my driver's license with my home address and my housekeys.

darkember 12-18-2004 05:51 PM

The real pisser is when you get a good samaritan like I did that calls you 12 hours after you cancelled everything to say "hey I found this"....it was well worth it for not having to get a new D/L alone...but waiting on new cards that didn't NEED to be cancelled was a rub. There is the occasional nice person, you might get lucky

xNetworx 12-18-2004 05:53 PM

Get cash from your bank... I am assuming they know you so you won't have to show id

I think he means he's out of cash and lives on debit-cards :glugglug

Kevin2 12-18-2004 06:14 PM

That sucks. I lost my gold card on Friday and had to cancel it as well but thankfully I still have others.

abadfish 12-18-2004 07:31 PM

I would never cancel my credit cards right away... all of the ones I have come with protection for lost and stolen cards and you aren't liable for purchases... I'm not sure if this is possible but the cc companies should have a way to put a hold or block on the card while you look for it, rather then cancelling straight up.

Doctor Dre 12-18-2004 07:34 PM

Ewww ... that fucking sucks

burntout21 12-18-2004 07:35 PM

wow i did that once it sucks

NoCarrier 12-18-2004 07:38 PM

Don't you have a bank account with money in it?

sickkittens 12-18-2004 07:39 PM

Sorry to hear, man. I'm pretty obsessive compulsive when it comes to wallets. Hope all goes well.

If that's the case it would be credit-cards as debit-cards can only debit funds that actually exist in your bank account.

I doubt that he cancelled his credit cards but reported them missing/stolen and is being issued new cc numbers. You should check the fine print of your credit card protection service agreement. On my agreeements, if I don't report it as soon as I know, I might be liable for the charges.

HighOnAcid, just go to your bank on Monday and get some cash out. :)

Tat2Jr 12-18-2004 07:54 PM

To all you nuts carrying around your SSN cards..... what are you doing? Why would you carry that with you? I've never in my life ever had a need to show anyone my actual SSN card other then when I already knew I'd need it (DMV office or something). Leave the SSN card at home in a safe place.

Nanda 12-18-2004 07:57 PM

Sorry...that really sucks...:(

digifan 12-18-2004 08:11 PM

Sounds painful.. last time my wallet fell out somehow in a cab I felt hopeless too. A few hours later the cab driver came and brought me all my stuff. I took him like 3 hours to find me... there are always exceptions.
:)

AVM 12-18-2004 08:46 PM

I'll wire you $500-$2000 immediately, Monday morning - In return, you pay me back 30% interest by the 28th of December (2004!).

Yes, I'm being serious.

Something tells me he doesn't have any cash. :glugglug

AVM 12-18-2004 08:50 PM

Better yet, I lend you $500, in return you pay me $500 + give me 1000 free business cards (with design). Seems fair. :2 cents:

matty 12-18-2004 08:53 PM

maybe if you werent HIGH ON ACID this never would have happened.

Geeez, fucking hippies

mardigras 12-18-2004 09:10 PM

Two great suggestions above about front pocket and not carrying around your SS card.

French Quarter crowds conditioned me to carry just the barest necessities in my front pocket(s). If someone else is driving, I usually lock my keys in their car. Carrying around all of your important stuff in one nice tidy package is just asking for trouble.

Babaganoosh 12-18-2004 09:16 PM

Go back to the bar and check the trash cans that customers can access. Especially the ones in the bathroom. Your cash will be gone but your cards will most likely still be in there.

BV 12-18-2004 09:19 PM

I have one of those discover card money clips i keep in my front pocket with some cash and my DL.

I haven't sat on a wallet in years. It's very bad on your skeleton.

ours are printed right on the front of the driver's license.

kowntafit 12-18-2004 09:49 PM

Man I always do my shopping on Christmas eve, that way you don't have to fuck around wondering what to get for ages, it's like if I don't get something now I won't be able to get anything, you'd be surprised how much more efficient shopping can be. :thumbsup

wyldblyss 12-18-2004 09:54 PM

I lost my wallet at Disney World once...I had all of our credit cards, $3000 in cash, car keys...you name it in there. My daughter became ill on a ride and I was so concerned with helping her I forgot to grab my purse that I had taken off so she could sit on my lap.

Well, someone returned it to guest services, and not one single penny was missing from it. There are still some very decent people in this world.

Sad then I guess he could go to any Porsche dealer and do a 'quick sale' with the car he bought last week then he would have money for Christmas presents.

I am just wondering how this will affect the people who took him up on his business card specials. If he has no money in the bank, does he have the money to deliver to his clients that prepaid?

But eh...take your passport, go to the bank and get some cash from your account. :2 cents:

smack 12-19-2004 12:43 AM

pxxx 12-19-2004 12:44 AM
