How much Gigs for a gallery to TheHun?
 

I never used paidhosting for Thehun but I'm wondering how much it would be

I know but I'm looking to buy hosting and I was wondering how much bandwith I'll have to pay a month for lets say 2K/day.

Take the average downloaded per visitor in gb and multiply by 2k.

For example, If I have a tgp with a 100kb main page, including graphics and it's getting 50k visitors daily, I'm burning

50000*0.0001 = 5 gigs per day.

I wouldn't know, he's never listed any of my galleries... *sob*

Well.. As a host..

I've seen GB/day range anywhere on a hun listing from 9GB to 23GB. Really depends on your gallery design and how you market things.

My personal stuff I've done on average 14GB/day, and made enough for that to equal 1/3rd of my gross income.

I burn 15 - 20 gigs a day without a Hun listing... be careful about putting that shit on pay hosting.... you could end up slashing your wrists.

I think for 2K hits a day to TGP galleries you should get a bill of $200-$400. But the hun will send much more than 2K.

Host it yourself... if you don't I think you're a dumb ass...

Not only will you have a better chance of getting listed if you host it yourself but you won't be making a freehost rich... if you are really that scared -- copy the freehosts advertising formula.

I'd recommend Phil's servers ;) He gets hit by the Hun all the time...

Range is 3-5 GIGS per day depending on Spot..

6-10 gigs for all listing (first two days actually r serious)
okay to put on paidhosting, but make sure that:
a) u r converting his traffic with atleast $50 per listing (lotsa ppl making x3-10 times more)
b) ur hoster is rather good to take some spikes on transfer. hun's traffic has two major spikes per day, so be careful with virtual accounts.

Phil21 - 14gb as average i would say is to much. are you using movie galleries ? otherwise try to compress your images perhaps - but seems you know what you are doing

TheFLY - correct ;o) free host for the hun is not worth it or in other words - if you use a free host on thehun you will make way less then with a pay host.

Red7 - 3-5 GB per day ? how big is your gallery or the galleries you are talking about ? 5-10gb i would say is a better number


I would say the average is ~5-15 gb depends on how big your galleries are, what kind of niche mainly and which spot you have. And in my opinion as i said .. put it on a pay host - its worth it because you will get way more hits in the gallery "business". if you for exampel pay the high price of $3 per GB and you get 5-10gb / day with a hun listing you need only a singel usual signup and you won´t loose any money. Make a clean gallery, don´t put any other receip links in it, make a nice looking layout and you will get a nice spot and some traffic - with that traffic even with per click sponsor it will be worth it.

yeah, 14GB may be a bit high.. I guess there is a little other traffic coming in to, so lets say 12GB to be fair (per day in the current days listing).

But yeah, I do have rather large pics. I've done expirmenting and I found they convert better. The better converts seems to be about a wash with the extra bandwidth, but the few extra signups look a lot better to the sponsors and give me more pull in getting content and such (hey, I have an under 1:200 lifetime average across all my sponsors, not too shabby eh?).

Like I said, the b-width bill makes up for about 1/3'rd of what I pull in gross.. So I think it's decent. Of course, I do own the host (ISP stuff is my first love, this just helps pay the bills), so it was easier for me to figure what I'd be pulling in bandwidth.

That said.. I've seen people I use use more than 20GB/day on a hun listing. I'm honestly not sure what they do to get that kind of traffic burn, but they have the worst GB:Unique ratio I've ever seen. :P I guess as long as they continue to bay the bills.. shrug.
