I was just browsing through some cd's and found a cdi...

Compact Disc Interactive. A project launched in 1996 by Philips bound to fail. I think it got caught up by time with the rise of the Internet. (They wrote internet with a capital back then I just noticed). It could have been a winner...If it was launched some years earlier...
Looking back it might have been the base for dvd.
I think not many might even remember this now...
