There are big changes in the results. Is there anyone else who notised the same thing?

theadulthub 12-17-2004 03:51 AM

might be that google has turned the location redirect back on. I'm in the UK and can't get to .com :(

Yes, but for me it's been a good thing. :thumbsup

I expect PR to be updated any day now too, and possibly even more changes in the SERPS.

theadulthub 12-17-2004 03:57 AM

might be something to do with location based searching - google has switched back over to redirecting you based on your location (i am in the uk and get sent to .co.uk) which shouldn't be having much of an effect but sometimes randomly does...

probably not before next month.

They are definetely made a big change. I just read in the biget webmaster forum that many sites experienced very big changes in their position and everybody agreed that something big is going on. There are some assumptions that this is just a rollback - google is using some old database before the update. I hope this is not permanent because many results are upside-down.

Thanks for posting this thread.

I noticed a dramatic change (30%) in google SERPS yesterday. This is based on sites which have been running rock solid and steady for over a year.

At the same time, there has been major spidering of sites by Google over the past couple days.

Ordinarily, there will be ups and downs, and they generally dampen down for at least a couple weeks to month. I have no doubt that there is a significant transition underway. Let's see where things are at in a couple days.

At this point, it looks like Yahoo SERPs are increasing steadily and pulling up to first postition.

Theyre in the middle of a traditional dance - havent seen one in a year - they just updated backlinks and the Google Directory with new PRs - should take the whole weekend to settle out

It will be a great X-mass present if google gives some page ranks at last :)
