Let's brainstorm ideas to increase ...
I've been trying to think of alternative ways to increase surfer retention to my site ThongPeak.com
One of my recent ones is a free ThongPeak screen saver. I figure if thousands of people are using this screen saver and seeing over and over again "Don't forget to checkout the new pics at ThongPeak.com" in the corner, it can't hurt .... in fact could really increase the chance of those surfers becoming repeat visitors. Anyone else have good different / alternative ideas for increasing user retention and the "Stickyness" of your site? Let's share :) -Phil |
Woah .. wtf is wrong with this board?
The "other" version of this thread got fucked up! I didn't think it went through at all. Weird. :warning |
Only one thing works and its constant new content and pretty much if you are not a niche site you will never have true retention

but that's almost beside the point of what im talkin about. Look at some of the huge sites such as TheHun of course, Thumbzilla, and most of the other really big tgp's ... they aren't niche-specific, but they get so many fuckin' return visitors every day. I think that the Hun's "Send me mail, here's my address" thing at the top of the page is the kind of small innovation that increases surfer retention just because it's so different and personal. Of course there's the obvious such as keeping the content fresh, but I'm talking about different and alternative ideas that can have significant impact. -p |
We let members order custom videos and galleries. Demand is very good and they pay big to have their own custom content.
Their videos are made available on the web (their personal start pages) and DVD. |

Before I use your screen saver, I'll paypal you :2 cents: , this way I won't feel bad about using unauthorized content.
Supplying "coming next" teases, regular updates, good flirt copy, and kid gloves customer service does it for me. |
ok you already made up your mind what works and what doesnt thats awesome
well I talk from experience not what I think works learn to listen |
