Hives SUCK! (pics)

During the past week or two I've had a pretty bad outbreak of hives. I've never had them before now. The doc thinks its because of an allergy to some medicine they put me on. They said it could be a few more weeks before they go away. Right now they've got me on Zyrtec and a steroid to keep them under control.

So much for under control :(

Here are some pics. There's a little bit of Benadryl cream on them. My skin isn't falling off :)

And, no, I haven't been scratching them.

I was hive-free before i did a little xmas shopping. The rubbing from my shirt and coat caused that.

I left a man and came back a freak. Or maybe I left a freak and came back a... freakier freak.

How long did they last? What got rid of them?

I've been to the doc twice about them. Today they gave me prescription medicines instead of just Benadryl.

SilverTab 12-17-2004 01:51 AM

damn looks like it itch like hell! :(

only times when I get something close to that is when a cat attack me LOL...i'm slightly allergic to cat (but it's not that bad so I can have one at home) but when he used to strike me with his claws, I got those kind of bumps right after...it itched like hell :ak47:

infecto 12-17-2004 03:05 AM

Ouch man I feel for you, I know how badly those can itch. Only happened a couple times to me for unknown reasons but they broke out like crazy on my body and nothing really helped except just little them run their course but that was only a few hours so I was in luck. Good luck man.

bangman 12-17-2004 03:25 AM

I used to get them when I was younger. Nasty shit.

Spread some local anesthetic over the area. Well, it will at least help with the itching-pain.

Sarah_Jayne 12-17-2004 05:48 AM

thought this was going to be about the band

Harmon 12-17-2004 05:53 AM

It's herpes. Don't scratch it :2 cents: :winkwink:

Mefo 12-17-2004 06:41 AM

you're on steroids right now?

JustJen 12-17-2004 06:46 AM

Hives are the worst. Most times there is no found cause. Steroids are all that will help really. And low stress. Hope you are better soon!!!

OMG hives suck :( I used to get them from medication. I am deadly allergic to sulfur and penicllin. Each time I took the sulfur medication, it got worse and worse... and one time it made me faint and I had to go to the ER. If it ever happens again I could die from it.

ironlung 12-17-2004 07:35 AM

the hives, yea man that band rocks

ohhh i mean eww

MandyBlake 12-17-2004 07:38 AM

I hope you start to feel better soon!
