I wonder whats the number of non death casualties. I would think with the advances in medicine there are a huge number of casualties that would have in previous wars died but now live on and are not part of the number commonly distributed in the media? How many soldier who are not dead but injured so severely, they essentially have been removed from the workforce barring lengthy and costly rehab.

well here's a story that quotes the pentegon as saying more than 15,000 injured soldiers have been evacuated from Iraq
