BUSINESS THREAD: about charge backs ( no pics )

Ok, everyone knows about the Visa and Mastercasd rules about the max CB ratios.

But when you start a new program and bill throuh CCbill and since it's a new program, you are getting less than 100 sales daily, do such rules also apply to you?

I read few months ago that small programs are looked at differently, because there can be one dishonest affiliate who will sent you 30 joins with stolen credit cards and then all of them gonna charge back and you would be fucked.

BTW when you don't offer trial memberships, does it usually mean that you will have a higher charge back %?

And finally, are refunds calculated the same as charge backs with CCbil?

Any input about this topic highly appreciated :thumbsup

In order to qualify for the breakout list and potentially fines or termination, you've got to have 100 cb's per month, AND be over the 1% on CDC limit.

This does not mean that your processor, or the powers that be with Visa compliance, cannot terminate you or put you into the reduction program if your chargeback ratio is very high on a smaller amount of sales.

Mastercard, insofar as I am aware, is the only one of the two that can treat credits issued with the same punitive action as chargebacks if they deem it that you are using the credits to avoid getting chargebacks.

CCbill scrubbing has also its positives, for example, less CHB's.

hehe true, but then again, harder scrubbing = complaining affiliates

Avoid the CB ratio altogether

Another way to deal with it is to use a service that can blend sales and let you avoid the chargeback ratio altogether. It can not only save some money, but save your merchant account and your ability to get a decent rate in the future. I've referred a couple of players who saved enough to buy a mercedes, just protecting from the potential fines, not even including the potential loss in sales he would have had if he his MA had been slammed.
:thumbsup
