Australians finally come to their sences
 

John O'Neill has stated the Australian Soccer Association will officially announce a change of name to the Football Federation of Australia ahead of likely international friendlies in London against Croatia and Columbia either side of the Confederations Cup.

"We are embracing the name 'football'. From the 1st of January we will be called the Football Federation of Australia," O'Neill said on Australian television.

"We are not telling people you can't use the word 'soccer'; we are not changing the name of the Socceroos. This more about bringing us into line with the vast majority of the world."

Soccer doesn't really do it for me. One or two scores per game seems a little uneventful to me, just watch the highlights. The highlights are impressive though, I'll give you that.
