Uber Geek Question WiFi Solution or Other
I am confronted with possibly buying a home on a hill where high speed bandwidth is not available. DSL/Cable/T1 is available in the town below about 10 Kilometers away. There does exist a direct line of sight between the home and the town. How feasible is setting up a WiFi from an office in town to the house? What would you recommend?
Thanks. |
Pretty easy - I've done it before with Redline equipment - 21 miles line of sight is the stuff I had used from them

Why not get satellite internet from DirectTV? If you're on a hill, it's not like you won't have a clear line of sight...

As for Direct PC, I would not waste my money. I had them, and it was slower than dial up. And that was when the weather was great. one single cloud and all hell broke loose.
We right now have a radio signal that we use. the Signal goes from my house to a hotel in the town 6 miles south of us. From that repeater to the main tower in Tijuana about 18 miles North. And the speed is fantastic. What country are you in? |
WiMax :thumbsup
