Anyone work as a real estate agent?

How is it working out? Thinking about doing it part time.

You mean she makes $20k per month?
There is NO way to tell how much one would make selling. It's all up to your level of expertise & expierence.

I just started a couple months ago. Have several things lined up for the spring but nothing right now. Bad time of the year. Anyway it cost me $350 for the class, $63 to take the state exam, like another 50 or so to send it in once I found a broker to hang it, then I had to join the local Realtors association, that was like 500 bucks, it goes on and on and on. So, what I'm trying to tell you is if you don't have extra time and extra cash you are fucked heh.

I was thinking about doing it. My parents were looking for a new house and I went along with them most days. The real estate agents they had were complete idiots. So i thought to myself, if these idiots can make a living doing this... why not me? But truth be told I like my job, on the computer, dont have to leave the house, residual income, etc etc. No need to go chasing another dream and stirring my life up.

You definitely have to be good at managing money too. You never know when you are going to get paid next. So if you get a $2000 check you have to remember to take taxes out of that and make it last for awhile until your next one. There are a lot of realtors in my office that have other jobs, mainly in the winter when it's slow. And you don't have health insurance either.

I need a real estate agent. I would like to buy 10 rental properties very soon. I would like to know how lending qualification vary when buying investment homes rather than the old stand for a home you live in.

The old stand-by being 'the mortgage payment should not be more than 29% of your monthly gross'. Thats incredibly ruff but that is a theory in it then you adjust for all the specifics. Obviously I will not meet that standard for 10 houses.

You have to dedicate your time and focus to it and it could be good, but I don't know about part-time.
