I'm having a sad day...

Had to go to the humane society to identify the body of one of our cats.. he escaped not long after we moved in.. He was gone for three months, but he was two blocks away when they found his body.. he had only been dead a day or so. He was on his way home :( Didn't think I would cry so hard because I've known for a week or two but hadn't gotten down to do the deed, but I'm still a blubbering mass.. He was a part of our family for 6 years.

Miss you big guy :(

Aly 12-15-2004 01:28 PM

Good lord... So sorry for you Sweetheart.

Candice 12-15-2004 01:29 PM

I'm so sorry about your kitty cat, Treasure. It's very hard to lose a pet, as they are one of the family. I lost a dog this year, but had to make the decision to have her put down myself. She had gotten dangerous and become unpredictable. :(

to better days,

Candice
xoxo :)

jawanda 12-15-2004 01:29 PM

Sorry LadyMischief, losing pets is rough :(

We had a similar experience, but ended up with a miracle.

Our cat disappeard last winter for about 2.5 months, then one day she was at the door crying her little heart out. She was skin and bones ... maybe stuck underneath someone's house or something from the snow, we'll never know. But she made a miraculous recovery and is now back at 100%.

I shed some serious tears that day she came home, it was like a miracle.

Your kitty is in a better place now, waiting to be reborn into another good life.

:)

*hugs* sorry to hear about your kitty, hopefully he's rolling in catnip in kitty heaven!

PrivateIvy 12-15-2004 01:39 PM

So sorry to hear that LadyM :( I know how you feel.... all our pets are as much a part of our family as those of us who think we are human. We lost our cat similar to what you described....was gone and found near the house monthes later, and then last Christmas our Golden Retriever "Sadie" got very sick and left us.

Amazing how they become so much a part of our lives. Although we have a new pup, not many days pass when I don't miss Sadie laying here by my feet while I work.

Feel better..

Believe me I understand the loss, losing a pet can be amazingly sorrowing..

Furious_Female 12-15-2004 01:48 PM

I'm sorry about your kitty. :( Pets are family too. I have 7 cats currently... I had 8 until one disappeared over a month ago. :Oh crap

MandyBlake 12-15-2004 01:50 PM

I'm really sorry to hear about your kitty.
Now that I have a pet, I can't imagine what that day will be like.
I don't want to even think about it.

BVF 12-15-2004 01:52 PM

that's fucked up. I ignore my cat a lot but I'd be sad if he left.

Too true.. He used to sleep at my older daughter's feet as a baby and wake me up when she cried... he would sleep with his paws wrapped around our legs and kiss our noses. He was an intelligent cat with an incredible personality. He will be sorely missed.

Tala 12-15-2004 01:53 PM

Oh no Treasure, I'm so sorry. :( It's like losing one of your kids, at least in my heart. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

It was a road cleanup... When you file a missing pet report, they ask you to send pictures, and when an animal meets that description, they ask you to identify the body so they can remove that animal from the file and make preparations for creamation. We aren't sure what we're going to do yet. Wacky was a special kind of guy.

10 years ago my (ex)fiancee left me after a relation of 8 years. In the same time one of my rottweilers died (he had problems and doc gave him the needle)

I had more problems with, and i cried more about my dog, then about my ex fiancee.

Animals can be your best friend, and when you loose them it can feel like you lost a child.

Our cat died 2 years ago ( a big carfield look alik cat).. i cried almost for 3 days. People say often, why you feel so bad about it? its just an animal.. Most people can learn from an animal. Together with a child, a animal is the most honest living creature on earth.
I feel sorry for you, even when i dont know you, but i know how you feel..

feel better..

Vitasoy 12-15-2004 02:05 PM

That's gotta suck, sorry to hear.

Indica 12-15-2004 02:07 PM

pradaboy 12-15-2004 02:58 PM

awww I know how it feels we lost a cat in our family recently. I feel for you!

good luck and keep your chin up :)

Zoe_Zoebaboe 12-15-2004 03:01 PM

oh sweetie, I know how you feel.

I moved into a new place with friends of mine, and I took my cat with me. I was gone for a day, come home, and my roomie tells me she forgot to close the door. My cat was gone for a month, until I saw her body on the side of the road. I was crushed.

I hope you get over it, and you will over time :(

Platinumpimp 12-15-2004 03:02 PM

Wow thats really sad if he was even on the way home :(

RIP kitty

Leaving is something else as dying, but I understand your point. Sucks to lose pets, cuz they attach to you and attach to them :glugglug

Paco, of Large Cash. 12-15-2004 03:09 PM

I am so sorry to read/hear about the recent tragedy.

No words can bring him back, but as all animals are innocent, it may comfort you to know he is in a good place.

Fap 12-15-2004 03:10 PM

Irrum 12-15-2004 03:21 PM

I know how you feel I had a cat and the SPCA put it to sleep for biting people. She was only 2, I had nightmares for months over it. I am sorry for your loss.

uno 12-15-2004 03:23 PM

I'm sorry Treasure! I can deal with the death of people, but the death of animals I own I'm a mess on and off for a month or more. At least you have the other pets and the kids, and if worse comes to worst you can always pet joel.

Kicker 12-15-2004 04:02 PM

:( :(

LadyMischief 12-15-2004 04:07 PM

Thanks everyone for their condolences.. It helps a bit to share the loss. Wacky was like one of my kids... he grew up with my kids.. They are devistated too, and his brother is still looking for him after all this time.
