300+ million ... no one needs, nor deserves that much cake... give 3/4's of it to family, friends and charity ... tell them all to go away and your life will be better after.

Lotteries aren't about needing or deserving, just like jobs. You get what you get, whether you earn it or luck into it. It seems that they gave 20 million of it to charity, which, after taxes, is more than a tithe.

you dont get a real chance to announce that your a winner the lottery board of where you won does that for you in the form of public announcements.

dig420 12-14-2004 03:41 PM

A fool and his money are soon parted.

The process that a rich man goes through to get his money, the judgement, caution, intelligence and discipline he developed, makes him ready to handle the money when it comes. You can give an idiot all the money in the world and all it will do is ruin him, he probably won't even be able to hold onto it for very long.

These lottery winners are all bottom of the barrel instant gratification types, they just can't handle it.

In GA you can form a corporation and the corporation can cash the ticket. That's why you don't hear about every single multimillion dollar lottery winner - there are ways to keep quiet :)
