HIV Cure Discovered
December 13, 2004 -- Researchers at Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J., have developed a trio of drugs they believe can destroy HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, according to a medical journal report.
The drugs, called DAPYs, mimic the virus by changing shape, which enables them to interfere with the way HIV attacks the immune system. Tests conducted in conjunction with Johnson & Johnson have shown the drugs to be easily absorbed with minimal side effects. They also can be taken in one pill, in contrast to the drug cocktails currently taken by many AIDS patients. A research team led by Rutgers chemist Eddy Arnold prepublished details of the most promising of the three drugs, known as R278474, last month in the electronic edition of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. The research has targeted reverse transcriptase, a submiscroscopic protein composed of two coiled chains of amino acids. It is considered HIV's key protein. "Reverse transcriptase is very important in the biology of AIDS," said Stephen Smith, the head of the department of infectious diseases at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark. "If you can really inhibit reverse transcriptase, you can stop AIDS." The optimism about R278474 stems from its potential to interfere with an enzyme that the virus needs to copy and insert itself into a human cell. http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/36375.htm Unfortunately, there is no money in cures so this will probably never see the light of day. Why don't you pay the designer you scammed?

You mean the one that delivered work of an inferior quality that we werent happy with? If you deliver what you promise.. you get paid.. if you dont.. you dont. Its really as simple as that. Regards, Lee |
there's still money in the cure...because once people find out that there is a cure, they'll all start having unprotected sex again. So there will always be a constant stream of new infections to make the drug profitable.

If they don't go through with the mass manufacturing and distribution of this pill we will see brisk sales on our online pharmacy sites.
I don't know if you want to buy a cure for a life threatening disease online though. That's one case where you don't want to risk getting sold a sugar pill. |

Either way, this cure is a long way off hitting the market although, with more straight individuals catching HIV / AIDs these days it might hit the market sooner rather than later. Regards, Lee |
Ah yes, now african women can have 70 kids and not worry about getting AIDS. The joys of medicine.. :eek7

I was in the medical field some time ago and knew a doctor who came up with a way to heal liver damage with a pill. He published reports, had proof it worked with case studies etc. At the same time he wa getting threats on his life because of how much it would take away from Phsycicians in the medical field. I don't think you will see too many cures to be honest. This was back in 1992 when I knew him and back then he said there was a cure for cancer, aids and a way to rebuild heart muscle after a heart attack with pills and gave me detailes stories of each of the pills, yet we will never see them because it would put the doctors and insurance companies pretty much out of business.

Look people will always keep getting HIV so the cure keep selling. not brining it out is not making you money. They sure need as the whole world needs it. So enough to earn. Plus if i would make this cure then i would like to see something to pay all the cost with even if other people sponsored you. They don't give you money for nothing.
This could be a best seller :thumbsup |
i see your point, lee, about the profitability of illness, but whomever manufactured/distributed it would see a helluva stock price increase...
|
That's great news.

If there was a cure, there would have been thousands of people involved in it. If you beleive the american goverment is keeping it quite that meens thousands of Americans would know. I dont know one American who can keep their fat mouth shut, let alones thousands of them |
You all have stated your fears of the "US Government." A bit mis-directed, however. One should be afraid of the "AMA" as they're the ones keeping people sick.
|
There are to much "public funds/donations" being used to find a cure. And most in the medical world now the importance of killing this disease. This is not something people can live a long life taking one pill a day for.
Great news, hope we find/approve a cure soon. Save Magic Johnson! |
Why is it always about the American government?
Where are the English? The French? The Germans? The Russians? Do you people think that the Americans are the ONLY people capable and with enough resources to find a cure? Bullocks. |

2 key elements in this piece. They "believe" it can destroy the HIV virus. They don't KNOW it yet. That's one. Second, the article doesn't mention any human testing yet which might become a problem. I hope this one DOES work out though  |
this treatment sounds like a great breakthrough, considering all the charity funding giving to AIDS may be this will see the light of day.
